Sony PS4 20th Anniversary Competition Not run Fairly…Official!

Sony PS4 20th Anniversary Edition Competition Fails

I have previously posted on the Sony UK 20th Anniversary Compeition and how shockingly poor it was run by Game Ltd and Sony UK…

Today the complaints made to the ASA (Advertising Standards Authority) have been made public and the news has made some big articles…

I would like to thank the ASA for conducting a thorough and fair investigation and ultimately making the right finding, although I am not overly confident in Sony’s / Games version of events.  I welcome any comment from them!

I tried throughout numerous times to speak to them and never once was given the courtesy of an answer, and as a gamer for about 25 years I feel that they treated me and every other gamer like me unfairly and didn’t have the ‘balls’ to apologise to us for it.  Shame on you both for this, and shame on you both for failing to recognise it.

You can find the ASA ruling here :

Apple iPod Classic (7th Generation) 160 GB Unboxing

Apple Certified Refurbished iPod Classic 7th Generation 160 GB

As I am sure you are no doubt well aware Apple discontinued their iPod Classic Range towards the end of 2014 siting lack of component parts as the main reason.  Since that announcement the price of any remaining iPod Classics shot through the roof so much so that a poor condition example would have easily fetched more than the cost of a brand new item when they were readily available.  Mint in box / Sealed examples often fetched more than £1000 as Apple fans and annoying overly rich hipsters grasped out to shady resellers and greedy ba£$%!ds on the likes of gumtree who hoovered up all remaining stock and put these ridiculous price tags on the items!

This trend has now taken a turn for the better and Apple have begun to regularly issue Refurbished Items on their official Store priced at a bargain £162 GBP.  The eBay traders are now having to wise up with their prices, but forget them, get yourself over to Apple and pick one up where you will benefit from 1 years Apple Warranty and the option of upgrading the warranty with AppleCare, which co-incidently I picked up on eBay for a mere £15 GBP.

The Refurb items will sell out quickly so have a look on your choosen AppStore for an app called ‘RefurbMe’ with this you can set up alerts to push to your phone the second new items come on the Refurb Store.  In the UK this is normally around 2300 – 0100 hrs so expect a late night / early morning bing and be prepared to get ordering straight away.

I am not going to even bother with the likes of a review for the iPod, it is an icon and needs no introduction, just know that this beast holds so much music you’ll never listen to it all and it even plays videos.  Oh and this is the old 30 PIN connector so hopefully you haven’t chucked out all of you old tech just because the lightning adapter appeared!

This article was written on 29/04/2015 and at this point Apple were regularly releasing Refurb’d iPod Classics on the UK Certified Refurbished Store.  I placed my order on 02/04/2015 and they have come back into stock approximately 4 times since then.  Obviously this could cease at any point without warning and let’s be honest it will stop sooner rather than later as I doubt many are returned and refurbished on the grand scale of things, so if you are interested in one get an alert set up and be ready to Click on Buy asap!

TomTom Rider V5 Hardwiring to BMW Can Bus Port (Aux Port / Sat Nav Port)

BMW F800GSA Sat Nav Port

BMW very kindly supply you with a Can Bus Supported Auxiliary Port on a range of their bikes that means you can easily wire your Sat Nav into the bike, meaning it will be powered from the battery of the motorcycle, however when you turn the bike off the Can Bus System then shuts down the power to the sat nav a short time later resulting no power going to the sat nav cradle and no battery drain.

Well that is the theory anyway, however some users have experienced battery drain and blame this set up, claiming that the Can Bus System isn’t compatible with their Sat Nav. That may be and BMW won’t say officially if that may be the case, stating only that their ‘Sat Nav’ port is for use solely with their Navigator System, and why not if you want to be 100% sure that everything is going to work beautifully together then you need to hand over £700 for the privilege.

Motorcycle Live 2014 – Birmingham NEC

2014 Honda Prototype Africa Twin

This year I took myself over to Birmingham for what is meant to be one the best Motorcycle Shows in the UK.  It was my first time over and without doubt I will be booking my tickets ASAP for the 2015 Show.

With a great variety of manufacturers present along with pretty much all the accessories you could safely carry away the show has a lot to see and do.

This year the show piece, in fact the show stopper was the Kawasaki H2 and H2R, and when the track ready version was put on the dyne the show literally did stop!  The ear defenders they were handing out were actually a requirement, if you had any sense!  This bike is deafening, more importantly this bike is impressive!

You can check out my YouTube Video of it on the Dyno below or click here :–1Gzs7Esog

Here is a Gallery showcasing some of the other outstanding machines on display – and check out that Honda ‘Prototype’ – is this the new soon to be released Africa Twin! Hell I hope so!

Michael Dunlop v William Dunlop at 2014 NW200

Some how I missed these photos in my ‘To Attend To’ folder on my computer, so for that I can only apologise.

A few very quick words will have to suffice as I am so far out of date, but another spectacular NW200 this year and I look forward to the next.  Thoughts and Prayers of course with the family of , Simon Andrews, the rider who was tragically killed at this years event.

04/09/2014 : Soccer Saturday Chosen Bets

If you follow my Twitter (@TomBoyNI) you will have noticed I have just posted up my three chosen bets for the day.

Generally speaking I do three bets on a Saturday, a big one (#thebigone), which is a huge accumulator which if it comes good pays out hugely. This week for example it sits at over 900/1. I have never hit this.

But here it is…

Then there is my both teams to score bet (#btts #bothteamstoscore). This is seven matches where I fancy both teams in the fixture hitting the back of the net. This is a fixed odds bet at 55/1. Last season I hit this twice and that pays for the rest of the season!

Here it is…

And finally I do a reasonably safe accumulator of five or six strong favourites. It is by no means a certainty but it often makes for an anxious second half. I hit this only a few times last season.

Here it is…

If you follow me good luck to us both! Only bet what you can afford to loose, and remember these bets are big odds, they are just a bit of entertainment for the best show on TV – #SoccerSaturday

Good luck!

Europa League 18/09/2014 – Go Mad and Bet the Lot!

I haven’t posted up a bet in a while and I thought that as tonight is Thursday night’s favourite TV, the Europa League I would have a wee flutter on that.

Two things to note however:

1. The Europa League is so unpredictable it makes betting on it pretty risky, and
2. Th new iPhone 6 is out tomorrow!

So here is my opinion, back the lot, go nuts, cross your fingers and if you get a win it’ll pay for your new phone. All you will have to do is get up extra early, go out and join the queue and throw your money at an Apple Store!

So here we go, fingers crossed, low stakes for a big gain, and to be fair with the way the Europa League plays it would be more fair if the bookies were offering 1000/1!

2014 Airwaves Portrush : NI International Air Show – Gallery

Airwaves Portrush 2014 - NI INternational Airshow 2014

2014 marked the first year of the new look NI International Air Show (2014) which was rebranded to in my own personal opinion the rather cheesy ‘Air Waves’, what with it being an Air show and also beside the sea. (This section of the Northern Irish Coast being the only one with waves to mention with the exception of storms of course.) Now that I have my reservations of the name expressed I will move onto more important things, the show itself.

One word should suffice as an review, and be enough to ensure your attendance next year – ‘Excellent!’

The venue has relocated to the East Strand of Portrush over looking the Causeway Coast, and it worked really well!

The display line has now moved to the eastern side of the peninsula to bring the display line much, much closer to the crowd and have the Giant’s Causeway and Dunluce Castle as a backdrop. It also means spectators can now view from the beautiful Blue Flag beach and enjoy even more exhibition space. This map shows the main layout of the event;

I am too late to be writing reviews and the like for this event, however it is never too late for photos and I have included a pretty big selection of the images I captured on the day, which follow below, but I do think it is important to emphasise the main points :

1. The event was excellent.
2. The range of aircraft was fantastic.
3. The sight of the 2 Lancaster Bombers was simply outstanding.
4. The display from the Red Arrows was amazing! This was their 50th Anniversary display and although they are always worth watching, this display is something special!
5. The other aircraft were all amazing, and being a fan of helicopters I certainly was treated well!
6. The rest of the events organised for families, visitors and spectators were good and I have no doubt will improve as the years go on.

I am certainly looking forward to the show again next year!

Back from a Summer Break…So Here’s some Kaley Cuoco on a Summer Break!

Firstly I would like to apologise to everyone for my extended silence but I simply took a little summer break.  Thanks to everyone who contacted me during this break with queries, questions or just to say hello.  But I am back now and have come back with some great stuff to get posted up.

I will start of with my apology gift to you all – a small but awesome gallery of The Big Bang’s Penny – Kaley Cuoco on the beach!  What a way to spend a 4th July 2014.  This alone would be a great reason to be American, have the 4th July as a holiday and to go to the beach!
