Read on for Step by Step Instructions on Updating the Firmware on the 8BitDo N30 Pro for Mac / PC.
Having got my RetroPie rig up and running I was thoroughly enjoying some retro arcade action. I had everything from an Atari to a NeoGeo, with 1000s of games from my youth all ready to go with the push of a button on my TV.
One thing felt wrong though and that was the controller. I was using a wired xBox / Windows controller. It worked well, plugged it in and it just worked as it should but it just felt wrong. Playing Streets of Rage on a modern xBox controller just didn’t capture the feel. It still played well, it is still an epic retro game, but I’m sure you get what I mean?
Then I decided to change the controller and started looking for an alternative. One that would work well, feel good and actually capture the feel of these older style games. I did a lot of reading on Amazon reviews as well as other sites and they all pointed me towards one brand – 8BitDo.
They have a wide range of controllers and accessories – as you can see mostly geared towards the Nintendo feel of things :

The new revision of macOS Sierra has just been released by Apple. macOS Sierra 10.12.4 is now available for Mac users, but before you install it, here’s the lowdown on the new features.
Please remember that when you decide to install the update make sure you have backed up your Mac’s data. Losing everything on a hard drive is something no one wants to consider so make sure to protect yourself, just in case!
The major new feature in macOS Sierra 10.12.4 is Night Shift, which made its debut in iOS9.3. Night Shift is available on the following Macs:
- MacBook Air (Mid 2012 or later)
- MacBook (Early 2015 or later)
- MacBook Pro (Mid 2012 or later)
- Mac mini (Late 2012 or later)
- iMac (Late 2012 or later)
- Mac Pro (Late 2013)
Apple released iOS 10.3 to the public today after completion of beta testing the new software. iOS 10.3 can be downloaded now as an over-the-air update, or installed via iTunes. iPhone and iPad owners can expect a rash of new features that not only make iPhone and iPad easier to use, but also more secure.
For us in the UK, who aren’t yet getting the TV app for our iOS devices, the most important update in relation to the newly released iOS 10.2 is without a doubt – Emoji.
And if you are curious what all these new emoji are, wonder no more because here they are…

The web is frantically reporting the following error :
iOS9 Software Update Failed : An Error Occurred Downloading iOS 9.
At the moment there seems to be nothing you can do to get this update over the air other than keep trying.
In the meantime make sure your phone is backed up and all your important data saved by either preforming an iCloud Backup or a iTunes Backup, preferably both!
When you have got yourself backed up get yourself over to iTunes and try the software update from there, it is currently downloading without issue for me and numerous other users are reporting the same…
So what time should the world expect to be able to download iOS9?
Big question, and the truth is no one has that answer outside of Apple HQ.
However going in recent form here are my predictions :
Apple Inc. normally seeds iOS updates between 9 and 10 a.m. PST.
Eastern and Central time zones can then expect to get the updates from about 12 noon to about 1 p.m.
The Mountain time zone should be ok to start downloading the newest iOS update from about 11 a.m. up to 12 noon.
OUTSIDE USA :
London – 5 to 6 p.m.
Moscow – 8 to 9 p.m.
New Delhi – 9:30 to 10:30 p.m.
Shanghai – 12 midnight to 1 a.m.
Tokyo – 1 to 2 a.m.
Melbourne – 2 to 3 a.m.
Auckland – 4 to 5 a.m.
