Rescue 116 : Irish Coastguard Helicopter lost at Sea.

On Tuesday 14th March 2017 at approximately 01:00 hours Rescue 116, the Irish Coastguard Helicopter lost contact coming into refuel during a rescue operation of the coast of Mayo in the Republic of Ireland.

Captain Dara Fitzpatrick was taken to hospital on Tuesday after being found in a critical condition by RNLI crew.

The three other crew on board have been named as Chief Pilot Mark Duffy and winchmen Paul Ormsby and Ciarán Smith.

RIP Rescue 116 – Absolute Heroes.

I have been using a R&G Shocktube now for many years, firstly on my 2014 BMW F800GS Adventure, and now on my 2010 BMW R1200GS Adventure.  When I changed the bike late last year it was one of the first accessories I purchased, in fact having rode the bike home it didn’t go out onto road again until the front and rear shocks had received a coating of ACF-50 and were safely wrapped up in a ‘Shocktube.’
