Halo Coming to PS5 in 2026 :
In what can only be described as massive news in the gaming world, Halo is coming to the PlayStation.
Joining the likes of Gears of War and Forza, the PlayStation / Xbox Crossover Catalogue is growing with some proper unmissable classics!
Rebuilt and modernized version of the original Halo campaign includes two-player couch co-op and four-player online crossplay.
The official word is out from Brian “ske7ch” Jarrard, Community Director at Halo Studios: The Master Chief is finally making the jump!
Halo: Campaign Evolved is launching on PlayStation 5 in 2026.
This isn’t just a simple port, folks. It’s the entire legendary campaign from Halo: Combat Evolved—the one that introduced us to the Chief, Cortana, and the mystery of the Halo ring—fully rebuilt and modernized from the ground up.
They’ve made some serious enhancements that will change how you experience the classic, but without changing the core content.
The Evolution of the Campaign
The campaign has been fully modernized but remains true to the original story, including:
- Graphics and Audio: Enhanced through high-definition visuals, all-new cinematics, a fully remastered soundtrack, and rebuilt sound design for a much more immersive experience.
- Enhanced Combat: The sandbox is getting a huge upgrade with nine additional weapons from across the Haloseries added to the arsenal. The gameplay experience itself has been evolved with smoother controls, better movement, and improved combat flow.
- New Missions: A huge surprise is the inclusion of three brand-new prequel missions. These star the Master Chief and the legend that is Sgt. Johnson, introducing new environments, gameplay, and characters before the events of Halo: Combat Evolved.
- Vehicle Mayhem: For the first time in the Halo: CE campaign, you can now hijack enemy rides and take control of the Covenant’s massive Wraith tank.
- Skulls: For those who like to shake things up, the campaign will include the largest set of “Skulls” ever. These optional modifiers can remix missions with randomized weapons, enemies, and environments. Yes, even with all these changes, they confirmed the iconic Grunt headshots still burst into confetti! 🎉
Better Together
What makes Halo so special is the co-op experience, and they are ensuring this is a social experience for PS5 players. The game will support both:
- Four-player online co-op
- Two-player couch co-op
Crucially, it includes full cross-play and cross-progression across console and PC.
