Welsh Road Race Cancelled / Postponed :
After yesterday’s rumours about the 2018 Welsh Road Race being called off (https://tbni.blog/2018/02/02/2018-welsh-road-race-called-off/) things have finally been confirmed by the organsiation this morning :
This is confirmed by their official Twitter and Facebook Feeds :
The directors of the Welsh Road Race regretfully announce the postponement of the 2018 Welsh RR.This is due to recent changes in legislation on the Road Traffic Act in https://t.co/KyH79UUmLa for the 2019 event has already requested and will be announced.. https://t.co/2xgkKdpFWJ

This is a huge blow for UK Mainland Racing and rather than comment any further at this stage I am going to keep a close eye on the developments – to see how the organisation handles this postponement – refunds, details on the legislation that has allegedely led to this problem, compensation etc.
It will be difficult for the Welsh Road Race to pick itself up from this and gain back the trust from early supporters again for 2019 – personally I wish them all the best, and am still hopeful for a return to road racing in Wales and across the UK.
