Motorcycling Ireland Insurance Update 20/03/2025 :
Motorcycling Ireland have today (20/03/2025) issued a statement updating the position on Insurance for motorcycling events in Ireland (South).
As it stands no policy is in place, and the latest round of negotiations have not improved that position. The MCI have detailed their choices as below and have deemed going back to the table to negotiate a better deal is the option that they will follow. A further update is expected in a week
MCI and RRAI Agree to Talks :
MCI have issued a statement that they and the RRAI are committed to talking together about the future of Irish Road Racing.
Only two weeks ago RRAI issued a statement that road racing should go ahead in Ireland with plans and insurance in place for Walderstown, the Faugheen 50 and the Limerick races at Athea.

MCI Insurance Update – February 2025 :
Motorcycling Ireland have issued an update on the continuing pursuit of insurance for 2025 events as well as confirming the licence fees for 2025.
In summary insurance discussions are ongoing, policies are being reviewed and this are to include road racing. Licence fees and start permissions have been confirmed as follows :

The 2023 Motorcycle Racing Season came to a glorious conclusion with a spectacular awards night at the La Mon House Hotel on Friday, 12th January, 2024. The event honoured the top three riders in each of the classes that make up the USBK Championship, as well as the recipients of the special MCUI awards. The awards night was a fitting tribute to the passion, talent, and dedication of the Irish motorcycling community.
In addition to the USBK champions, the awards night also recognized the outstanding achievements and contributions of some of the legends and heroes of Irish motorcycling. The special MCUI awards were presented to the following recipients:
Motorcycling Ireland Insurance Update (02/11/2023) :
Motorcycling Ireland have today released a statement on the current insurance situation for the approaching 2024 season.
The crux of it is that at this point a quote has been received from an underwriter, however the cover that this quote offers is not sufficient to proceed with events, and is also seems to be prohibitively expensive. MCI now state that they will go back to this underwriter with the requirement amendments and analyse the available options.
MCI hopes to be able to provide a further update prior to 11th November 2023.

Motorcycling Ireland Update on Insurance (07/08/2023) :
Motorcycling Ireland have issued a statement in relation to the ongoing insurance issues plaguing motorcycling events in Ireland.
Motorcycling Ireland can now announce that we have set up a sub-committee within the new board of management, who’s main goal is to obtain insurance for MCI, its officials, events and
competitors.
On the 2nd August 2023, the new sub committee, consisting of Daire Lowe, Nick Craigie, Graham Sheehan, Paul Power and Alex Sinclair (expert), held their first meeting to evaluate the insurance
situation and what the next steps should be to progress with this issue.

Motorcycling Ireland New Board Announced :
Motorcycling Ireland new President Dave McCann has released a statement following the EGM which was held on 19th July 2023.
Hi all, as you may know, the MCI EGM went ahead last week, and a new Board was elected. New President Dave McCann has issued this initial statement, more to follow.
On behalf of the new board of Management of Motorcycling Ireland, I would like to thank all of our affiliated clubs for attending and voting at the EGM last Wednesday the 19th of July.
We thank you for your support and the trust you have shown in us as we move forward together to address the issue’s we all currently face as clubs, competitors, officials, marshals and supporters.
