2022 Walderstown Road Races Results :

The 2022 Walderstown Race of the South Road Races ran over the weekend of Saturday 9th July – Sunday 10th July 2022. Practice Sessions were held on the Saturday Session along with the Junior Support Championship Race and the remainder of the races running on Sunday 10th July 2022.

The results from the event are as follows :

The next event of the Road Racing Calendar is the 2022 Walderstown Race of the South Road Races which will run on the 9th and 10th July at Walderstown, County Westmeath, Republic of Ireland.

Road Closures :

Roads close on Saturday 9th July 2022 : 12:30 PM

Roads close on Sunday 10th July 2022 : 08:00 AM

Tickets :

Tickets will be available on the day and will cost €25 (a program will be €5 extra) and ONLY cash will be accepted.

2019 Walderstown Road Races : Statement re Darren Keys 14/07/2019

Statement from AMRCC:

The Directors, Management and Club Members of the Armoy Motorcycle Road Racing Club are devastated to hear about the death of Darren Keys after he was involved in an incident in today’s Senior Support Race at Walderstown.

After making his road racing debut in Armoy back in 2016, Darren was really making a name for himself on the Irish National scene. A proper gentleman both on and off the bike. He was loved by everyone in the paddock – felllow riders, officals and fans alike. A bright talent taken much too soon and he will be greatly missed.

Our deepest sympathy goes to Darren’s wife Justine, daughter Molly, son Charlie, family, friends and the team at this very sad time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

2019 Walderstown Road Races Results :

Unfortunately the event has been abandoned after the opening super bike race which Derek Shiels took from Michael Sweeney in second and Derek McGee in third (welcome back Derek McGee).

McGee had a big lead at the end of the first but overshot a corner and came back into the mix in fourth and managed to pull himself back onto the podium at the last minute snatching the final step from Thomas Maxwell.

2018 Walderstown ‘Race of the South’ Results :

The 2018 Walderstown Road Races were held on 14th – 15th July.

The races, thankfully, passed off without major incident and Derek McGee surged to 4 victories including the feature superbike race.

Read on for the full results of what I believe to have been the first proper wet session of the Irish calendar – I remember Cookstown getting the odd shower but after Ireland being being baked in a recent heatwave it had to break and Walderstown was the first session where wet tyres were the only option – all day!
