Motorcycling Ireland Insurance Update (02/11/2023) :

Motorcycling Ireland have today released a statement on the current insurance situation for the approaching 2024 season.

The crux of it is that at this point a quote has been received from an underwriter, however the cover that this quote offers is not sufficient to proceed with events, and is also seems to be prohibitively expensive. MCI now state that they will go back to this underwriter with the requirement amendments and analyse the available options.

MCI hopes to be able to provide a further update prior to 11th November 2023.

2023 Macau Grand Prix Schedule

The 70th Macau Grand Prix takes place from 11th – 19th November 2023 and will bring together bikes and cars in a festival of motorsport like no other. The road racing element of the event is taken to the next level with an Armco enclosed circuit that is tight, fast and dangerous in equal and frightening measures.

This year will see numerous familiar names from the motorcycle road racing world take on the famous enclosed street circuit.

2023 Sunflower Trophy Photo Gallery :

The 2023 Sunflower Trophy was held at Bishopscourt Race Circuit on 21st and 22nd October 2023 and marks the end of the Ulster Superbike Championship.

With horrendous weather stopping activities on Friday 20th October 2023 (main qualifying day) the organisers made the difficult (but absolutely correct decision) to amend the schedule, cancelling the Friday sessions and moving them to the Saturday. The Saturday’s schedule was then shifted to Sunday.

The result was two excellent (maybe a little chilly, but we can’t complain about that) days that enabled the full schedule to run and 2 brilliant days of track racing action to wind up the 2023 Season.

2024 Manx Grand Prix Schedule

2024 Manx Grand Prix Schedule :

The Manx Motorcycle Club have today confirmed the dates for the 2024 Manx Grand Prix, announcing an expanded racing schedule with the return of one of the event’s most popular classes.

Five days of qualifying will commence on Sunday 18th August 2024 ahead of a six-race schedule spread across an action-packed Summer Bank Holiday weekend.

SIX RACE SCHEDULE :

Racing will begin on Friday 23rd August with both the Lightweight Manx Grand Prix featuring the ever-popular 2-stroke machines, and the Classic Senior Manx Grand Prix – brought forward from its previous Saturday slot as part of the expanded schedule.

2024 North West 200 Qualifying Schedule

2024 North West 200 Qualifying Schedule :

Due to a clash with the 2024 BSB Calendar and a Bank Holiday Monday overlap with the 2024 North West 200 the Organisers have announced (via a Social Media post) a change to the upcoming Qualifying Schedule.

The organisers of the 2024 North West 200 will introduce significant changes to the qualifying schedule at this year’s event.

With many of the teams and riders that compete in the NW200 scheduled to race at the Oulton Park British Superbike championship meeting on Saturday-Monday, May 4-6 their arrival in Northern Ireland will be delayed until Tuesday, May 7.

As a result, and after consultation with BSB bosses, the North West 200 organisers will delay the start of this year’s practice and qualifying sessions until Wednesday, May 8.

There will also be a major rejig to the qualifying order at this year’s north coast event.

On Wednesday the traditional opening Newcomer session will now be followed by a one hour long Superbike qualifying session. On Thursday, the Superbikes will be the first machines on track.

Davey Todd will rejoin Burrows Engineering / RK Racing for a one off appearance at the Macau Grand Prix in November.

Davey, who previously rode for the team during the 2018 season, will ride the team’s BMW M1000RR Superbike at the famous street race in the far east next month. We would like to thank Phillip Neill and Tas Racing for entrusting us with bringing Davey to compete at Macau, and also their support for the event. We very much look forward to having Davey back in the team, albeit for one race.

After a great season together in 2018, we remained friends and always said if an opportunity arises to work together again we wouldn’t say no, so when Davey called me a couple of weeks ago to ask about the possibility of running him at Macau it did not take long for me to make my decision. Fusso F7 Liquid Wax Review :

With winter fast approaching it is now a good idea to give your motorcycles and cars a thorough winter clean.

Why you may ask?

To protect your paintwork from the harshness of winter. The increased road grime, the harsh temperature variations and the dreaded road salt that will eat and destroy everything that it can. (If you are an all year biker then In relation to road salt this is even more important for you and you really need to look at anti-corrosion protection for your machine. My personal recommendation is ACF-50, but that process will be covered in another post.). Now is the time to get ready for the attack of winter.

What should I do?

Deep clean and protect. Take the time now to do a little hard work to make your maintenance throughout the winter that little bit easier.

This is not meant to be a detailed post on how to wash your car, so if you have any questions please feel free to comment below this post but here is what I recommend to get yourself winter ready – the final step uses Fusso F7 – and the review you came here for.

One of the best pieces of advice I can give is do nothing in direct sunlight or when the paint is hot.

Snowfoam – to remove any obvious dirt and grime and soften what remains on the paint.
Citrus Spray – to remove or soften any bugs and other road grim.
Thoroughly rinse, if you notice a large amount of grime being removed a second dousing of snow foam would do no harm.
Wheels and tyres can be addressed as the snow foam dwells.
Wash using a wash mitt – using the two bucket method, one bucket contains your suds of choice, the other is for washing and rinsing your mitt. Do one panel at a time and rinse your mat thoroughly between each panel.
Decontaminate – what you need to do here will vary by car, but you may benefit from clay, tar removal etc.
Rinse thorouhly.
Dry. A car dryer is ideal – and screw fix sell a vacuum cleaner that also blows for about £35. It is a bargain and an absolute must if you plan on doing similar with your motorcycle.
At this point I decided to polish the car using Autoglym Super Resin Polish. I didn’t need to clay, or use a tar / spot removal product and Autoglym SRP is now often overlooked for some of the more influencer heavy brands, but don’t underestimate this product. It is an absolute essential for any garage shelf!
That was me ready to try Fusso F7.

Paul Jordan started with Prez Racing 2021 have previously ridden with Burrows / RK Racing.

2022 brought the Jordan / Prez pairing a podium in the Supertwin class at the North West 200 and a third place podium finish in the TT Supertwin Race.

In 2023, Paul Jordan placed on the podium at the North West 200, finishing second in Supertwin race 1.

The spilt from Prez was announced in a Facebook Post.

“Sorry for the lack of post over the past few months.

Just been taking a time out and trying to put plans in place for 2024.

Unfortunately for myself and prez racing we won’t be going into 2024 together which is a shame, firstly I want to thank prez racing for everything over past few years, for what’s we achieved was amazing so I can’t thank them enough. For the mechanics that have a helped and put endless hours of effort in for me I will be forever grateful, so thank you for everything once again.

For my sponsors that has stood by me this year thank you again without you I couldn’t live my childhood dreams.

2024 is not in pending and I hope to have something in place very soon which can only bring nothing but excitement and drive back in to me to keep improving and make that next step.

2024 NW200 Dates Announced

2024 NW200 Dates Announced :

The Organisers of the North West 200 have announced the dates of the 2024 Event, as well as some exciting news as to the structure of the event, with the addition of a Superbike Race to the Thursday night schedule.

The organisers of the North West 200 road races are delighted to announce the 2024 race week will take place on May 6-11, with the principal race day on Saturday, May 11.

Following recent consultation with many of the major road race teams, the 2024 programme will see significant changes to the race schedule on both Thursday and Saturday.

A new Superbike race will be added to the Thursday evening programme alongside the now familiar Supersport and Superstock races. This will now provide Thursday visitors with the opportunity to see all of the major teams and riders in action.

As a result of this schedule change, Saturday’s programme will now include two Supertwins races run over four laps while the Supersport, Superstock and both Superbike contests will take place over six laps.

Further updates will be announced during the coming weeks.
