2025 Faugheen 50 Cancelled
Back in March 2025 the Road Racing Alliance of Ireland announced that road racing was set to return to Ireland for 2025 with the following events :
- Walderstown : 12th – 13th July 2025
- Faugheen 50 : 19th – 20th July 2025
- Munster 100 : 6th – 7th September 2025
- Athena : 13th – 14th September 2025
In order to raise funds towards the crippling insurance policy that has effectively halted Irish Road Racing over the past couple of years a Season Ticket was announced by the RRAI. There was also a solo option that reduced the price to E100.
However over the last couple of days things have taken a dramatic turn, the RRAI seems to have have ceased with numerous members stepping down via ‘Press Release Facebook Posts‘
Firstly the legal advisor stepped down…
Then the Vice President and director of the RRAI stepped down (as did the Social Media Manager)…
These messages obviously drew attention and commentary, at which point the RRAI issued a further statement…
Following that day, filled with drama, the news unfortunately broke that the Faugheen 50 Road Races would not run in 2025…
No further information is available at this time in relation to the other events, however a joint statement is expected from the RRAI on Sunday 1st June 2025.
All monies donated via the crowd funding scheme or the Season Ticket have been promised to be returned.
