The Official TT safety partner RST have confirmed they are stepping up from the sidelines to the starting grid. The brand has launched TeamRST and they’ve secured the signature of the Ian Hutchinson to lead the way for their 2026 Isle of Man TT Campaign.
With less than 80 days until the flag drops on Glencrutchery Road, this isn’t just a PR exercise. TeamRST is coming to the Mountain Course with one goal – winning.
Hutchinson: The Legend Returns to the Front
For fans of real road racing, Hutchy needs no introduction. A 16-time TT winner, he remains the only man in history to ever claim five victories in a single week (2010). After a few seasons of battling health setbacks and machinery changes, Hutchinson sounds more determined than ever.
“This project is very personal to me,” Hutchinson said at the launch. “After everything I’ve experienced at the TT, I still have that drive to prove we can compete at the very front. We’re aiming for that top spot.”
Hutchy will be contesting the heavy hitters: the RST Superbike TT, the RL360 Superstock TT, and the show-stopping Milwaukee Senior TT.
A Milestone for RST
While we usually see the RST logo on the leathers of the world’s fastest riders, 2026 marks the first time the company will operate its own full-blown racing team. It’s a logical step for a brand that has been the Official Safety Partner of the Isle of Man TT for years.
To ensure the bikes are as competitive as the rider, they’ve brought in a powerhouse of technical partners including Arai, D3O, and Motul. This isn’t just a privateer effort; this is a factory-level project designed to put Hutchy back on the step.
What This Means for the 2026 Road Racing Season
For us here in Northern Ireland, all eyes will be on how this new setup performs. We’ve seen Hutchy dominate at the North West 200 in years past, and with a dedicated team behind him, the prospect of seeing him back at the sharp end of the Superbike class is very exciting indeed.
Stuart Millington, VP of RST, added: “We have been working with Ian for over 15 years. He is one of the most determined competitors in TT history, and his experience makes him the perfect rider to lead this project.”

It will follow the machine builds, testing sessions, and the logistical nightmare of preparing for the 37.73-mile course. You’ll be able to catch it on TT+, giving us an unprecedented look at how a new team prepares for the world’s toughest race.
