2019 Enniskillen Road Races brought us back to County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland on 28th – 29 June 2019 for the second year of this re-launched event.

Another great day’s racing this year that somehow managed to see a full race schedule run following a huge red flag incident in Race 4. Most importantly all riders involved in incidents are on the mend and I would like to wish every one a fast and full recovery.

2018 Enniskillen 100 : Results (30/06/2018)

After a 66 year absence road racing returned this weekend to Enniskillen, in the form of the relaunched and revitalised Enniskillen 100. Further to that it is extremely pleasing to be able to report that everything about the event was positive.

No red flags, no injuries, a full and comprehensive race scehule (along with a packed Practice and Qualifying Session on 29/06/2018).

Couple all the above with a record equalling 5 race wins in a day for Derek McGee (and it could have been six, as he had entered six races but due to the five races in a day rule had to withdraw from one.)

The result was an epic days racing, and don’t forget the weather – we can do nothing about it but when it is with us it hard to beat. At 29.4 degrees Celsius it was an absolute scorcher with wall to wall sunshine from well before the race started until it set for the evening.

Hopefully next year the meeting will have Championship status and will tempt in an even larger field of competitors. Which is only a good thing for the greatest sport on the planet!

The debut of the Relaunched Enniskillen 100 is now less than a week away and just to wet your appetite and make you aware of the Course layout the organisers have released a map of the Circuit…

So now you are pretty much all set and the weather forecast looks like it is going to be a glorious weekend! So make sure you have the sun cream packed in the back pack, you are going to need it!

Castles of Ireland 2016 : Enniskillen Castle, County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland

My Castles of Ireland 2016 Tour is part of a larger UK & Ireland run Challenger as can be found on Adventure Bike Rider.

I will add the add the castles to this blog along with a little bit of their history to wet your appetite as to just another thing that Ireland and Northern Ireland has to capture your imagination and set your sights on. You can take in all of the castles on this island in on one trip of 676 miles, that according to Google will take you 14 hours 50 minutes. Of course that means no stops, food, leg stretches, or photo ops.
