The Cookstown 100 event is back scheduled in 2022 for it’s traditional date of April.

It will again be a Ticket Only Event and the Club have announced that from now until the 8th December 2021 Christmas Gift Vouchers are available. So there is no better way to secure your ticket for yourself and those lucky enough to to get Christmas presents from you than by getting in early and securing your Cookstown 2022 Ticket.

The Cookstown Club have announced all details on a Facebook Post :

*Christmas Vouchers Now Available *

The Cookstown club will hold their KDM Cookstown 100 event on the 22nd & 23rd of April 2022.

The club will celebrate it’s centenary year in 2022, making it the oldest  active road race in Ireland & with only a few races not being held throughout all these years through no fault of organisers, this undoubtedly makes the Cookstown club the most successful Club activity still promoting the sport on the island..

(A full listing of events will follow to celebrate this unique milestone in due coarse)..

For our 2022 event, again we will be running this event as a ‘closed event to the general public’ for various reasons and online packages needs to be pre booked for those who wish to attend in 2022, as per our previous few events held.

We are once again opening our booking system for our christmas vouchers for those who wish to give those close an extra gift this christmas.

Spectator Vouchers/ Packages are £25 for weekend package which includes wristband, program, packaging & postage.

IMPORTANT UPDATE RE 20210 Cookstown 100 : Ticket Sales for the 2021 Event has now ended.

The Cookstown Club earlier stated in a Facebook Post that Michael Dunlop would make an appearance at this years Cookstown 100 on his MD Racing Machine and the Synetiq Superbike.

Dunlop makes Cookstown 100 return

Michael Dunlop, star of the recent Armoy road races will return to the KDM Hire Cookstown 100, which is scheduled to take place on Fri and Saturday 10/11 September.

The Ballymoney rider, who last raced at Cookstown in 2018 will compete in both 600 supersport and Open races on his MD Racing Yamaha and Synetiq BMW by TAS Racing machines.

Dunlop, who won the 600 invitation race in 2018, and scored his only ever national road race win in the supertwins here in 2015 has not won the Feature Cookstown 100 race since 2013, something he will be eager to put right in 2021.

Dunlop’s attendance will certainly whet the appetite for road race fans, who have been starved of action between the hedges over the past two years.

Looking back to Armoy, the 17 times TT winner, Dunlop was in scintillating form, having had time during the pandemic to recover from injures received at the Southern 100 road race in 2019.

However…

You Still Have Time to Enter the 2020 Event :

I know the 2020 IBA Ireland Photo Rally is already, sort of, underway however with the current travel restrictions in place it is likely that most entrants and would be / will be participants haven’t got too far into the competition, yet.

However that is all about to change because as of 29th June 2020 Ireland will enter Phase 3 of it’s Coronavirus Recovery schedule and as such all travel restrictions within the island of Ireland will be lifted, enabling the 2020 IBA Ireland Photo Rally to get well and truly underway.

Entries are being accepted for the 2020 until 31st July 2020 – so you still have time : https://www.ibaireland.org/wolfhoundrally?fbclid=IwAR2zuxax_RrGMQZfALzd4WWd3Dqh3H-lUKxm_15izGIlEP9aF_NueqtSvA8

Following confirmation from our governing body Motorcycling Ireland (SC), advising that “all events are cancelled” “for the foreseeable future”. We have taken the decision to cancel the Skerries 100 in 2020.

Loughshinny Motorcycle Supporters Club acknowledge it takes a huge effort from many individuals and groups to organise and run our event. Our local community and the wider road race community are our biggest concern at this difficult time. In both communities, we have people that come from all walks of life, people who could in the coming weeks, be working on the front line or indeed have their lives severely impacted due to this current crisis. Our thoughts are with you all.

We thank everyone that made the 2019 Country Crest Skerries 100 such a success and we look forward to your continued support, working with us to make the 75th anniversary Skerries 100 in 2021 even bigger and better.

2020 Faugheen 50 Road Races Cancelled

Faugheen 50 Supporters Club Ltd

Keever’s Pub Faugheen 50 Road Races – 18th & 19th July 2020

Following official confirmation from our Governing Body, Motorcycle Ireland, it is with regret that we confirm the cancellation of Keevers Pub Faugheen 50 road races on 18th & 19th July 2020.

As a club we want to respect those of our members, officials, sponsors, racers & residents who are currently working in Frontline Services & not ask them to do more work voluntarily on our road races in the weeks leading up to our road race, over race weekend & the week following our road race just when they may need a break. We wish everyone working in Frontline Services the very best in the difficult weeks & months ahead. It is really true, not all hero’s wear capes.

To our road racing family, we hope you understand our concern for our families, friends & colleagues & our wish to support them in the only way we feel we can in these difficult times.

We will be back bigger & better in July 2021 & we hope you will make the trip to Faugheen to watch terrific road racing & have a bit of craic with our wonderful residents & ourselves.

In the meantime, take care & if you are passing anywhere near Faugheen, you will find some of our club members enjoying a coffee & scone or a pint in Keever’s Pub in the village. Call in as there is nothing more we like than to have a catch up chat.

See in July 2021

Yours in Sport on behalf of the club members,

Maeve Walsh
