2021 Armoy Results and Galleries :

Update : 07/08/2021 : Galleries from EVERY 2021 Saturday Race Added! See them underneath each Race Result!

Road Racing came back to Northern Ireland in 2021 with the first of two planned events coming to the County Antrim village of Armoy. We haven’t had racing in Armoy since 2019, in fact 2020 only saw a Cookstown event squeeze into the racing calendar.

However, the Armoy Club planned meticulously for the entire year, with regular updates and plans getting made public for a ticket only event to run on 30th / 31st July 2021.

That ticket only event quickly became a sell out and the planning paid off. The event was pretty much perfect.

It saw starting grids full of bikes in every class, from Support to Classics to Supersports to Supertwins and of course, Superbikes.

Friday was a qualification day with a couple of races at the end, both of which saw wins for local man, Michael Dunlop. The start of what would become a perfect weekend for Dunlop.

Then came race day and a packed race day at that. 11 planned races and all 11 ran. A red flag in the first race saw that race being declared a result after 5 laps, but from here on we were treated to a pretty much incident free race day right up until the final race, the Grand Final, the ‘Race of Legends.’

A red flag incident on the warm up lap saw a slight delay, but what followed was a Masterclass of road racing by Michael Dunlop as he raced seamlessly to his 9th Consecutive ‘Race of Legends’ Title.

Every race is deserving of a mention so in an attempt to avoid spoilers, the results are all below. Click the “+” beside the Race name to see the full results.

Bikes! will show on BBC1 Northern Ireland on 3rd August 2021 at 22:35 so make sure to set your reminders, failing that no doubt it will be available on the iPlayer after this time.

21021 Armoy Road Races : Sold Out

The Armoy Club have confirmed in a Facebook Post that the 2021 event is now sold out.

SPECTATOR PASSES :

We are still inundated with enquiries about spectator passes. Unfortunately we are now completely sold out for this years event.

We understand the disappointment and frustration of those who could not secure passes, especially those people who had pre-booked travel and accommodation. Unfortunately in these circumstances, there is absolutely nothing more we can do. We have a maximum capacity as per our risk assessment and these restrictions must be strictly adhered to.

We look forward to seeing everyone back in Armoy in 2022, when things will hopefully be back to normal with no restrictions.

ARMOY ROAD RACES 2021 SEES BUMPER ENTRIES

ARMOY ROAD RACES 2021
ARMOY ROAD RACES 2021

The Armoy Road Races have released info and a real teaser on what they are describing as ‘bumper entries’ for the upcoming 2021 Event.

ARMOY ROAD RACES 2021 SEES BUMPER ENTRIES

Armoy Road Races have a bumper entry this year according to Bill Kennedy MBE, Clerk of the Course.

To date, entries have been received from all over Ireland and the United Kingdom with nearly 30 of them newcomers. It would seem there is a keen interest in racing at Armoy this year and who will turn up at to race in the famous Bayview Hotel Race of Legends.

Wilson Craig’s Team Principal Darren Gilpin has confirmed not just Bolton man Davey Todd, who had a great win at the Spring Cup weekend at Oliver’s Mount, but Chris Burns from Newcastle. He said; “Davey is well known on the roads but Chris has extensive experience on all levels of racing including Moto GP, British Superbike as well as German and Dutch Superbike Championships. Pure road racing is something that Chris has wanted to do for some time now. His father was a former TT competitor and that’s part of his motivation.

“Steven Smith from Antrim will also be part of the team, and he is really looking forward to Armoy and what its 3.03 mile course has to offer.”

Oliver’s Mount Spring Cup 2021 : Results

Bob Smith Spring Cup 2021 : Results

2021 has finally saw bikes on a road racing circuit and the first event of the year was held on 22nd & 23rd May 2021 at Scarborough’s Oliver’s Mount.

Oliver’s Mount road race circuit is England’s only natural ‘road’ race track. The challenging undulating track is situated just five minutes from Scarborough’s beach front, England’s oldest seaside resort. Many fans have likened the track to a ‘miniature TT by the seaside’. Mass race starts around the breath-taking track provides close racing which delivers excitement no other track in England can match – which is why races fans love the stunning venue. It’s an overload for the senses, you can smell the fumes and rubber, you can feel the heat from the bikes – you’re so close to the action it feels like you could almost reach out and touch it.
