Just 24 hours after the confirmed cancellation of the Southern 100 the final events on the Manx Road Racing 2021 Calendar have also been cancelled – the 2021 Manx Grand Prix and Classic TT. Covid-19 has now ensured that it will be 2022 at the earliest before we see any racing back on the Isle of Man.
ISLE OF MAN GOVERNMENT CONFIRMS CLASSIC TT AND MANX GRAND PRIX 2021 CANCELLED
Following extensive consultation with representatives from key operational groups, the Isle of Man Government has taken the decision to cancel this year’s Classic TT and Manx Grand Prix. The races were due to run from Sunday 22nd August to Friday 3rd September.
Laurence Skelly, Minister for the Department for Enterprise, Isle of Man Government confirmed the decision today, saying:
The Isle of Man Southern 100 Club have confirmed via a Facebook Post that their 2021 event is now cancelled due to the ongoing Coronavirus Pandemic.

It is with much regret that the Directors of Southern 100 Racing must announce that the 2021 Isle of Man Steam Packet Company Southern 100 Road Races have been cancelled due to the ongoing Corona Virus pandemic and the uncertainty of the Isle of Man borders being fully open to general travel by July.
One of the hottest G-Shock Collaborations in 2020 came in the form of a Manga Series, namely ‘One Piece.’ The watch sold out almost instantly and has never come back into stock since, anywhere on the planet!
That does mean that if you want one, you will be buying from a collector or re-seller. At the time of publishing you can expect to pay £250 – £300 GBP for a genuine unworn example.
The only downside to this is that the watch is massively counterfeited. A copy can be picked up for around $30USD, and this has lead to many people falling foul of unscrupulous resellers selling fakes at extortionate prices.
If buying one of these watches make sure to do your due diligence and check that the item you are buying is not a fake. Genuine sellers should be able to authentic their purchase with a Casio invoice and high resolution images of every part of the watch. The Isle of Man Steam Packet has announced today that the remainder of available tickets for the 2022 TT Races will go on sale tomorrow morning at 08:30am.
Don’t hang about on this one, with no TT Festival on the Island since 2019 this one promises to be even more popular than usual – and usually it is a sell out!

Isle of Wight Diamond Races Postponed Until 2022 :
It is hardly surprising but the Isle of Wight Diamond Races have been postponed until 2022 due to the ongoing Covid 19 Pandemic.
The event was due to launch in October 2021 but with ongoing travel restrictions, uncertainty around vaccines and when the restrictions are likely to lift the organisers have made the unfortunate but understandable decision to postpone the event.
Founder of the event and team leader Paul Sandford told bikesportnews.com: “We have got all the permissions in place from the Isle of Wight council and the ACU and we know what we need to do.
“These include traffic management plans, course preparation and managing teams to get on and off the island. So there’s a lot of money to be spent. But the big unknown we have got is covid so given the challenges we have we took the decision to move it to 2022.”
Coronavirus just keep on adding to list of events that have to be postponed and or cancelled and the Diamond Races inaugural event is the latest to fall victim.

Minimalist wallets are in, they have been for quite some time, so if you haven’t made the switch yet – believe me it is time to do so.
At the top of the minimalist wallet game you will find ‘Secrid‘ and when you start researching you will see that there is a full range of options for you to choose from, and that range caters for a wide spread of, I don’t know, ‘carry capacities’?
Personally, before I moved to my Secrid Wallet my previous wallet was a behemoth. It had bank cards, credit cards, loyalty cards, membership cards, dozens of old receipts and business cards and even occasionally some cash. Remember cash? Thats’s how we used to pay for goods and services before Covid-19.
All of hose things at the time seemed totally essential. When I decided that I was going to try out a minimalist wallet I thought I was going to struggle, I needed what was in my wallet after all that’s why it was in my wallet and why I carried it around with me everyday.
The truth however is very different, most of it was rarely touched. In fact all I ever really did was add to its bulk for no reason. I needed a couple of cards and a couple of loyalty cards. That’s it, but at the time I couldn’t see that.
So after some research I decided that to convert to a minimalist wallet I would convert to the biggest one that that they did – the Secrid Twin Wallet.
The Directors and Management of the Motorcycle Union of Ireland (Ulster Centre) Ltd have taken the unfortunate but unavoidable decision to suspend the start of the 2021 Sporting Event Calendar.
Due to the current fluid situation with Covid 19 restrictions combined with pressure on our NHS, we believe this is the only responsible decision we can make at this time. We will review the situation as and when Government restriction is eased. Currently we are taking all guidance, advice from The Northern Ireland Executive, Minster of Health, Department of Communities and SportNI.
Earlier this week two of our flagship’s events were cancelled due to the pandemic, Tandragee 100 and the NW200. The Cookstown 100 are planning on running again in September as they managed to do in 2020. Armoy Road Race club are still hopeful of running on their end of July date.
Our first tarmac event is now planned for 5th June at Kirkistown, the first round of the Ulster Superbike Championship (USBK) and with several more rounds planned between June & October.
The Trials section had already planned to run into the summer months and will release more details in due course.
2020 was almost a wipe out of all our events with only one Road Race and one short circuit managing to run between the restriction and only with authority from Government departments. This announcement will be very disappointing for our Licence holders, Clubs, and supporters, but we must do what is best to keep everyone in the communities safe.
All 2021 Irish (ROI) National Road Races have now been cancelled – with the exception of the 2021 Skerries 100. Kells was the first to declare early last week, but two days later and the entire Irish schedule took a further hit when the Munster 100, Walderstown : Race of the South, and the Faugheen 50 all confirmed that they too would not run in 2021.
That means that at this moment the only chance of any Irish Road Racing comes from Skerries 100 on 3rd – 4th July 2021. This event is still under constant review by the organisers.
The picture isn’t much better in Northern Ireland (and the Isle of Man which has also cancelled the 2021 TT Races).
Cookstown 100 has been postponed and the organisers hope to run it on 10th – 11th September 2021. Armoy still plans to run on 30th – 31st July 2021, both events are under review by the respective clubs. The Tandragee 100 and North West 200 are both confirmed as cancelled.
It is going to be another very difficult year for all the riders, teams and organising clubs. 2022 is going to need to a lot of support, so when the dates get announced and the TBNI Road Racing Calendar gets updated get those dates into your own personal calendars and book the weekend off work, there is going to be a lot of racing to get done!
