The picturesque County Antrim village once again proved to be a formidable arena for some of the sport’s finest, drawing a massive crowd and a competitive field of 147 riders, including over 20 newcomers and international competitors. The weather, a typical Northern Irish mix, added an extra layer of complexity, demanding exceptional skill and quick decision-making from the riders and their teams.

2025 also marked the first year the event was live streamed, with full coverage of race day on the BBC iPlayer in association with Greenlight TV.

The Race of Legends: Browne Reigns Supreme

The Grand Fianle, the Bayview Hotel ‘Race of Legends’, saw Michael Browne (Boyce Precision Engineering by Russell Racing Honda) stamp his authority on the event. Having already secured two Supersport victories, Browne overcame early leader Paul Jordan, pulling away to a commanding 4.313-second victory. His fastest lap of 106.898mph around the three-mile circuit underscored his dominance. This win marked Browne as only the fourth different winner of this prestigious race, joining Ryan Farquhar, Michael Dunlop, and Davey Todd.

Superbike Showdowns

The two Superbike races provided fierce competition. In the opening McFarlane Tarmac Open contest, which was cut to six laps due to wet conditions and slight delays, Michael Browne secured his third win of the weekend, besting Michael Sweeney by a significant 8.821 seconds. Paul Jordan, opting for his Supersport machine in the tricky conditions, impressively secured third.

Supersport Sensation

Michael Browne’s Armoy dominance began in the Hilton Car Sales Supersport class. He secured a double victory, proving his ability and pace across different machinery. The opening Supersport race saw him finish almost 5.4 seconds ahead of Michael Sweeney, who narrowly held off a charging Paul Jordan for second by a mere 0.058 seconds!

Browne completed his Supersport double with another strong performance in the second Supersport race.

Supertwin Triumphs for Jordan

While Browne commanded the larger classes, Paul Jordan (Jackson Racing Powered by Aprilia) was the undisputed king of the Supertwins, securing a brilliant duplex in the class. In the Clyde Shanks Super Twins race on Friday evening, Jordan broke the Twins lap record with a blistering 1:47.542s, pulling clear of Michael Sweeney and debutant Joe Yeardsley. He followed this up with another victory in Saturday’s John M Paterson Super Twins race, overcoming early leader Barry Furber in wet conditions to win by almost ten seconds.
