2026 TT Races : Race Week Summary :
The second week of the 2026 Isle of Man TT Races will go down as one of the most weather-disrupted and logistically challenging in the event’s modern history. Persistent rain and adverse conditions relentlessly forced cancellations, truncations, and major schedule overhauls, leaving the Clerk of the Course in a constant battle against the elements.
Out of the ten originally planned contests, only five official race results were declared across the entire event. Notably, both Superstock races were scrapped entirely, and the Sidecar class was suspended for the remainder of the event following serious incidents during practice week.

The Weather Wars & Postponements :
The second week saw a near-total blackout of racing from Wednesday through Thursday due to unrelenting rain. To salvage the schedule, organizers compressed the remaining action into Friday, June 5, executing a marathon itinerary that included the rescheduled Supersport Race 2, the newly re-branded Sportbike Race 1 (formerly Supertwin), and the blue-ribbon Milwaukee Senior TT.
When Saturday, June 6 brought yet another wave of dense fog and heavy rainfall, the final race day was officially abandoned. In an official statement, the Clerk of the Course summarized the historic frustrations:
“This has undoubtedly been one of the most challenging TTs in recent years from a weather perspective. Over the course of the event, we set out with nine days on which racing could potentially have taken place, and rain will have affected seven of them. That is an exceptional set of circumstances and it has had a major impact on what we have been able to deliver. Throughout the event, the weather simply hasn’t worked in our favour.”

RST Superbike TT – Race 1
Before the heavy rains completely paralyzed the later portion of the fortnight, the opening big-bike battle of the event provided a masterclass in relentless precision. Honda Racing UK’s Dean Harrison asserted his authority right from the drop of the flag, spearheading the six-lap marathon from start to finish. Harrison opened up an immediate lead over Michael Dunlop at Glen Helen on Lap 1, clocking a blistering fastest lap of 134.892 mph that ultimately allowed him to dictate the pace. Behind him, a fierce, race-long war raged for the remaining steps of the podium, with Peter Hickman and Dunlop trading second place across multiple pit stops. Hickman eventually managed to break away in the final two laps to claim the runner-up spot on his comeback from a recent injury, while Harrison comfortably managed his gap at the front to cross the line over 15 seconds clear, securing a momentous premier-class victory.

Monster Energy Supersport TT – Race 1
The opening middleweight contest on Tuesday, June 2, perfectly foreshadowed the tactical heavyweight battle that would define the category all week. Dropping down from the big bikes to the 600cc class, Dean Harrison immediately asserted himself as the early pacesetter on his Honda Racing UK machine, spearheading the charge across the opening 37.73 miles and leading the field into the mandatory first-lap pit stop. However, Michael Dunlop utilized the nimble handling of his MD Racing Ducati Panigale V2 to relentlessly chip away at the deficit, executing a devastating overhaul by the end of the opening lap. Once in clear air on Lap 2, Dunlop broke the back of the competition, ruthlessly executing a masterclass in corner speed to stretch his consecutive win streak in the Supersport class to an astonishing nine races. By the time the chequered flag dropped, the Ulsterman crossed the finish line with a dominant 24-and-a-half-second cushion over Harrison, while Peter Hickman comfortably secured the final step of the rostrum on his Trooper Triumph.

Monster Energy Supersport TT – Race 2
The second middleweight contest of the week featured a masterclass in pit-stop strategy. Standing-start lap record pace was initially set by Dean Harrison, who opened a 3.6-second gap on the first lap. However, a blistering, lightning-fast pit stop by Michael Dunlop’s MD Racing crew completely flipped the narrative on Lap 2. Dunlop assumed the lead and pulled away on his Ducati Panigale V2, eventually stretching the margin to over 26 seconds to secure his 10th consecutive Supersport victory.
“The career’s been good round here. It’s fantastic. The bike was phenomenal, really mint,” Dunlop commented afterward. “The boys were great in the pit-stop and I knew I needed to up my game on the second lap, so I pushed on.”

Carole Nash Sportbike TT – Race 1 :
In the shortened two-lap Sportbike (Supertwin) race, Michael Dunlop re-wrote the history books on his Paton. He obliterated his own three-year-old lap record on Lap 1 with a standing start of 123.637 mph, then pushed even harder on Lap 2, clocking a staggering 124.350 mph (18m 10.725s). This dominant display earned Dunlop his 36th absolute TT victory. Mike Browne and Paul Jordan fought a fierce battle for the remaining podium spots, both finishing under the old lap record.

Milwaukee Senior TT :
The marquee event of the fortnight, the Senior TT, began on Friday evening but was plunged into chaos. Honda Racing UK’s Dean Harrison flew out of the gates, setting a jaw-dropping standing start lap of 135.166 mph to pull out a massive 14-second lead over Peter Hickman. On Lap 2, Harrison was tracking at absolute lap-record pace when a red flag stopped the race due to a serious accident involving Finnish rider Erno Kostamo at the 11th Milestone. Organizers confirmed that Kostamo was “conscious and talking” before being airlifted to Noble’s Hospital.
Because the road closure windows left no time for a Friday restart, the race was deferred to Saturday. However, when Saturday’s relentless weather forced a total abandonment of the event, the Clerk of the Course officially declared the Senior TT a definitive race result based entirely on the positions at the end of Lap 1.
The decision secured Dean Harrison his second career Senior TT trophy and his 7th TT win overall.
