The Relentless North West 200 – Portrush 17 – 19 May 2012 Galleries.

I know I have been promising these for quite some time, and if you have been contacting me in relation to when they were going up please accept my apologies for the delay.

It just took a little longer than I was expecting to get the time to trim them down and make sure the best photos made it.  I had well over 700 to sort through, and I hope I have brought you the best of them!

The only gripe I have, which to be honest about I am reasonably devastated over is that there was a horribly placed fence just in front of me that played havoc with getting the wheels of the bikes in the shots.  Unfortunately I couldn’t get any higher to try and cut over it, and I didn’t want to move, as my position at this chicane was far too good to let go.

The other thing I thought was that the decals and livery of the bikes were just too nice for me to not put up the photos due to the fact that the fence interfered with the wheels a little.  So I am aware that the fence is not ideal in the photos, but I also felt you should get a good look at the bikes regardless.

Also this was my first attempt at motion photography, and I have to say I really enjoyed trying a few different techniques.  I still am learning and motorsport photography is definitely something I will be working at in the future, so expect some more.

And so Euro 2012 begins

The Euro 2012 Championships start today and it will be a full on couple of weeks of football. A great way to get through the summer void. So make sure you follow my twitter for all my tips and thoughts on the Championships as they develop.

Enjoy the tournament and my first tip is the hosts Poland to beat Greece. Currently at evens on Bet365 it seems a decent chance to double up.

So when I logged into my account I had the princely sum of £8.33. Lol. So let’s see if I can make it grow. All of it is on Poland. So fingers crossed or I’ll bust out on the opening day. Ha!

Harmony Hill Car Show : Lisburn : 12/05/2012

2012 is Year Six for the Harmony Hill Car Show.  It is set up and run by a friendly little chap called the ‘Weed‘ and although it is a strange name, the work he does is good.  Harmony Hill is a Charity Show all the cars enter and pay a fee (£10) and Spectators are FREE!  Although of course they too can donate to the charity and profits from the BBQ go towards the charity too.

One noticeable thing about the Harmony Hill show is that it somehow gets the weather!  And a good car show needs good weather, and this is always a good show!

Please check out the full gallery of over 190 photos on our NICruisin.com FaceBook page, and like it too if you want, there is literally thousands of photos documenting the Northern Irish Cruise scene since the late 1990s right up to now!

May 2012 – Reebok ZigTech Unboxing :

Just a little bit of randomness here, I have decided to start running in a ‘hopeful’ attempt to get fit. Having done about 16 miles in a pair of running shoes that I think I got around 2004 I decided to get a new pair of running shoes, the choice I made was a pair of Yellow / Black Reebok ZigTech.

It would be very unfair of me to rate these in anyway as I am far from a professional runner, in fact I am far from an amateur runner, so I definitely feel on this occasion there are better places to get information on fitness products. Who knows though maybe soon you will be coming back here looking info on fitness…

Anyway the shoes are comfortable, I have covered about 35 miles in them since I got them, and they seem to be holding out perfectly well, oh and I think they look awesome!

And for some serious reviews I think this place has a good grasp on things : http://www.runnersworld.co.uk/reviews/shoes/1.html

Panasonic TZ-30 Unboxing, Initial Thoughts and Sample Shots!

Seems sometimes that I am trying to play catch up in relation to this little piece of TBNI, but around 19 days ago I mentioned an unboxing of my new Panasonic TZ-30 along with some initial thoughts and a few sample photos.

Instead though of playing catch up I actually think that this has given me a good chance to get a little play with the camera, which in turn makes me a little more qualified to pass judgement.

The unboxing itself requires little comment, it arrived in the post, next day from Amazon, who to be fair are hard to complain about, and from that point I opened it, here’s how that went!

Flyin' Ryan
Flyin’ Ryan

As promised here is my little post on Northern Ireland’s Festival of Speed.  I won’t labour on and on about it though, just check out the pics for a pretty concise series of events for the day.

Remembering that this was the first such event in Northern Ireland on such a scale.  And to be fair for a first attempt it was a really good day.

The events were great:

MLA’s get an 11% Payrise! Forget the teachers, doctors, paramedics and police!

Yeah indeed, they get an extra £5000

Extract from the BBC News Website : See the full story here : http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-17366868

An independent panel has decided that assembly members pay should rise by almost £5,000 from April 2013.

The 11% increase to £48,000 will be financed by a cut in office costs.

An MLA’s basic pay is currently £43,101. MLAs who are committee chairs get another £11,331, while deputy chairs get an extra £5,667.

Junior ministers get £19,609 on top of the basic while ministers get £37,801. The first and deputy first ministers are entitled to £114,535 each.

Now maybe I am out of line here but at a time when the average Joe is struggling financially, a time when fuelling a car is becoming difficult for the working man / woman, it is not the time for our ‘elected’ representatives to be bumping up their wage to the tune of £5000.

This is at the same week when health workers earning under £21,000 will get an extra £250 ANNUALLY, anyone over it will be FROZEN for ANOTHER YEAR!

This is at the same time were the UK  Police are looking at having their wages FROZEN FOR THREE YEARS.

This is at the same time the genuinely decent human being out working every day is getting taxed on food, fuel, road tax, PAYE Tax, TAX TAX, to make sure the scum of society can get their benefits and luxuries like their 50″ Plasma TV to watch that wee shit Jeremy Kyle on, instead of getting off their ass and getting a JOB.

This is at the same time that the UK has accepted that there are around 500,000 illegal immigrants claiming benefits that they can’t possibly process.  This is forgetting about the immigrants that are here and getting benefits under fraudulent asylum claims.  (BTW I support beneficial immigration and genuine asylum.)

This is at the same time that the banks are being bailed out by the ordinary decent tax paying man and woman.

This is at the time when the average Joe is crippled trying to keep themselves right and decent!  Who is paying these extra £5000, yeah indeed the average Joe!

Sort it out Stormont!  I hear you scream but we are cutting expenses to fund this rise – behave yourself!  We all know what Politicians and expenses means.  Nice garden gnomes by the way where did they come from?  Oh really expenses, well shit!  Gimme my bit of the gnome back!

Show me the money, oh no wait the Politicians are getting it!
Show me the money, oh no wait the Politicians are getting it!

Hello world!

Well this is the first post, so to be fair you can’t really expect much from it.  It is a hello, an introduction, a chance for me to tell you readers, bloggers, browsers, and search engines what you can expect from this little blog.  There is one simple answer to that, you can expect nothing.  Take nothing for granted, and don’t take it too seriously, I’m not.

I have decided that this blog will be serious, political, funny, sports orientated, car orientated, stupid, tech orientated, and random.

Take from that what you will, or take nothing from it.  But bookmark it, shit who knows you might like it!  (And if you don’t, bookmarks are easily deleted – don’t worry it won’t offend me, but I can always use your IP to track you down and stick the bookmark back up your ar….. – j/.k).

Here have a background
Here have a new background, I'm pretty sure it is better than the one you have now!

So there you have, that’s post one out of the way and I have went for the random side of things, and to sweeten the deal and make sure you click that bookmark button look up ^^  Yep that’s a background for you, from me!  It’s a good desktop, that will make sitting in front of your PC / Mac a little easier.  So ‘no problem, you’re welcome and see ya later!’
