New Audio and Video Setup for 2017 :

Just a quick one. I have threatened before to take on some motovlogging and nothing ever really materialised.

Today I reiterate that intention and here is the 2017 audio & video setup I have opted for.

So coming this year… more videos and more audio.

See you soon!

Honda Announce Pricing for Africa Twin CRF1000L Travel Edition :

Honda announces the prices for the Travel Edition of their all-new, highly anticipated CRF1000L Africa Twin, a bike that comes in standard and DCT trims, and which is equipped with travel-focused accessories.

The CRF1000L Africa Twin Travel Edition package consists of a pair of side cases, a top case, crash bars, heated grips, central stand, LED fog lights, and a 12V socket. Bought separately, these add to the sum of €3,152, the equivalent of £2,320. The package is €2,750 ($2,024), and you don’t have to do any self fitting.

Honda are offering four models that can be equipped with the Travel Edition, and this doesn’t include the basic version. ABS and DCT models are the only ones than can be had in Travel trim, for the following prices:

– 15,650 euro(ABS flat color), equivalent to £11,519 / $17,000
– 15,950 euro (ABS Tricolor), equivalent to £11,740 / $17,327
– 16,800 euro (DCT flat color), equivalent to £12,365 / $18,250
– 17,100 euro (DCT Tricolor), equivalent to £12,585 / $18,576.

Of course these prices have not yet been confirmed in the UK, and with the fact that Rip-Off Britain will no doubt be a factor take these GBP prices as a best case scenario, remembering they are likely to be much more!

It does look great though…

Grip Puppies Installation – BMW F800GS Adventure

Grip Puppies are a well regarded, and cheap, addon for your bike that is designed to increase grip and improve comfort mainly by cutting down the vibrations that travel along the handlebars, through your hands and into your arms, often leaving you with that horrid tingling feeling when you get off the bike.

Coming in at a mere £15 they are definitely worth considering.  I have had them on my bike for about 1500 miles and at this stage I can confirm that they absolutely increase comfort and decrease shaky hands at the end of a trip (or even earlier).  For me they don’t eliminate the sensation completely, but they definitely cut it down and ‘recovery’ time is far less.  That has to be a bonus!

There is one negative, if you have heated grips these will decrease the efficiency of them.  The heated grips will still work but it will take noticeably longer for the heat to reach you and they will appear to have a reduced temperature.

TomTom Rider V5 Hardwiring to BMW Can Bus Port (Aux Port / Sat Nav Port)

BMW very kindly supply you with a Can Bus Supported Auxiliary Port on a range of their bikes that means you can easily wire your Sat Nav into the bike, meaning it will be powered from the battery of the motorcycle, however when you turn the bike off the Can Bus System then shuts down the power to the sat nav a short time later resulting no power going to the sat nav cradle and no battery drain.

Well that is the theory anyway, however some users have experienced battery drain and blame this set up, claiming that the Can Bus System isn’t compatible with their Sat Nav. That may be and BMW won’t say officially if that may be the case, stating only that their ‘Sat Nav’ port is for use solely with their Navigator System, and why not if you want to be 100% sure that everything is going to work beautifully together then you need to hand over £700 for the privilege.

Sony / Game / Playstation Make a Right Balls Up of UK PS4 20th Anniversary ‘Competition’

Although this blog is now officially closed it is still getting a huge volume of hits and traffic so I have shared this here also…

View it in its new home here : https://tbni.co.uk/?p=1496

If you follow my twitter feed or Sony / Playstation or Game UK you will no doubt have seen the fury spread across the internet of foul play, cheating, link sharing and as Sony as so very prone too, hacking! #4thePlayers #notfortheplayers #forthecheats

On 15-19 December 2014 Playstation UK and Game UK ran a competition that meant the first 100 correct entries to this competition got a opportunity to purchase – at full price (£399) – a 20th Anniversary Edition of the console.  One of only 13,500 globally, so a very rare item indeed.  Well at least that was their plan until link sharing, web site crashing, cheating and hacking took over and left the genuine gamer with no chance whatsoever of bagging one of these much sought after machines.

Allegations flew but facts remain, users (cheaters) ended up with multiple consoles…

You will see from the screen grabs above that this user even claims to be a genuine gamer, but is so very kindly prepared to accepted £3000 for a console (but yet they mean so much to him and he is so blessed) yet towards the end of his posting he is getting rather abusive and showing his true colours!

GoPro HD Hero 3 Wasabi Battery Pack – UnBoxing

With a little trip quickly approaching and the potential for some great footage to be captured I decided that an addition battery for my GoPro HD Hero 3 was a requirement.

It is no secret that the battery on the GoPro isn’t going to last anyone all day, in fact I reckon that the original battery will last for approximately an hour of filming. (Set at 1080p at 60fps at WIDE with PROTUNE turned OFF).

I also have a battery bacpac (from a Hero 2) that gives me another hour or so at the same settings.

Even still I wanted more, and after a little research and I noted that a battery by a company called ‘Wasabi’ was getting great reviews. So this is the option I have went for.

For £29.99 from Amazon.co.uk (which is the same price as an official GoPro Battery) you get the following :

2 x 3.7V, 1200mAh, 4.4Wh ‘Wasabi’ GoPro HD Hero 3 compatible batteries.

(The Official battery is rated at 3.7V, 1035mAh, 3.885Wh – so on paper the ‘Wasabi’ contains more juice, so should keep you going a little longer – in theory at least).
