2025 Cookstown 100 Results

2025 Cookstown 100 Results :

The 2025 Cookstown 100 ran over the weekend of 25th and 26th April 2025 and marked the opening of the 2025 Road Racing Season.

Three races were scheduled for Friday evening (25/04/2025) however due to inclement weather on the day no racing took place, however a full and busy, if rather reserved, day of practice took place which at least got everyone out on track and got wheels turning on the 2025 season.

Saturday 26th April 2025 was the main race day and with only a little rain in the morning the track soon dried out and then the sun came out and it was glorious – definitely a day for the sun cream.

The dried out course made for some fantastic racing with Michael Dunlop setting a new course lap record of 91.773 mph – previously was 91.480mph – as well as having two superb duels with Derek McGee and Michael Sweeney.

Unfortunately also the Saturday did showcase the dangers of road racing with 2 requirements of the Air Ambulance to extract injured riders. Here’s hoping for a quick and full recovery for all of those involved in the race incidents.

Dominic Herbertson Announces HRRC

Dominic Herbrertson has announced his new road racing venture. – Herbertson Road Racing Company.

The news has come via a press release from the Official Isle of Man TT Website.

Following the announcement that WTF Racing would not be present at the 2025 Isle of Man TT Races this now does mean that Dom the Bomb will compete in all classes at the 2025 Event.

HERBERTSON CONFIRMS FULL TT 2025 ENTRY WITH NEW HRRC TEAM

Dominic Herbertson has today (Thursday) confirmed that he’ll compete in all Isle of Man TT Races this year as originally planned, having formed his own team, HRRC – Herbertson Road Racing Company.

Herbertson had been due to contest the 600cc and 1000cc races for WTF Racing until their shock, and sudden, withdrawal, two weeks ago. However, Alan Gardiner, team principal of WTF Racing, has since supplied Herbertson with the stock Honda Fireblade he was due to ride.

That means 31-year old Herbertson will now take his scheduled start position of number 13 for the RST x D3O Superbike, RL360/Opul Superstock and Milwaukee Senior races. Having set a new personal best lap of 130.497mph at last year’s event, he’ll now be looking to build on that and add to the six top ten positions already achieved across the 1000cc classes.

2025 Irish Sidecar Club Bike Show, Dundrod, 29th March 2025 :

The show season has started to gain some momentum for the 2025 season, for both bikes and cars. Bike shows have started appearing across the country and ‘Cars and Coffees’ have started to reappear on Sunday mornings taking over McDonald’s Car Parks everywhere. In fact the biggest car show in the country is next week in the form of Dubshed, Round 1 of the Ulster Superbikes is next week at Bishopscourt and the first road race of the year, the 2025 Cookstown 100, is now just under a month away!

Today it was the turn of the Irish Sidecar Club’s bike show which was held at the paddock of the Ulster Grand Prix site at Dundrod.

This is a small show, but at only a fiver it well worth a trip out to the Dundrod Circuit. IT occupies one of the hangars on the site and it was well filled with two and three wheeled machinery, that had its origins right across the biking spectrum. From the really old to the really new, from step throughs to road going superbikes accompanied by race bikes and sidecar machines there is something for everyone – and it supports it the sport!

Support the Sport!

So what was on display? I have put together a gallery of the show which you can find here :
