TBNI.Blog promotes and advertises all road racing motorcycling events in the UK, Ireland and Isle of Man for free. Other events such as the Ulster Superbikes are also promoted for free.

The TBNI.Blog Road racing Calendar is also a completely free and secure resource available on the site and is easily imported to your own personal calendar on your phone / tablet /computer.

The Road Racing Calendar is, by far, the most used resource on this site with it being in the top 5 lists on Google of the query ‘Irish Road Racing Calendar 2023‘

Posts promoting road racing events constitute the huge proportion of this site’s content and each post is also promoted on at least the Facebook Page.

That is where the problem lies. Facebook, Meta and Twitter simply do not share our posts in a fair way.

TBNI.Blog Facebook Followers

The Facebook Page has in excess of 1k followers and likes yet, for example, the post promoting the first round of the Ulster Superbike Championship was shared with only 40 people! Facebook let 4% of our followers see that post. They then, very kindly, offered me the opportunity to have 1200 people see the post for £14. So, to get the message out to slightly more than those who have chosen to follow the page the Meta company expects £14 – and that won’t even be the entire 1k+ who actually wanted to follow the Page!

You may notice some subtle changes in the site over the coming weeks and months. Nothing too drastic, just a general tidy up and maintenance.

Some old dead posts are likely to disappear but chances you would even notice are slim to nil.

Site Update : TBNI.Blog is now secure.

Truthfully this means very little for our user base as TBNI.Blog does not collect any of your personal data, nor do you have to register to visit or use the site.

However we have now secured the website using SSL – so when you browse you will notice that the ‘secure’ icon on your browser of choice will be displayed in the address bar – and that the address will commence ‘https://’

It should never be ‘http://’

A full site wide redirect is also in place so should you have previously visited the non-secured website then you will automatically be redirected to the secure site.

Anyway, you have to do nothing but isn’t it good to know that your browsing of TBNI.Blog is now safer – and just for information make sure you never enter any personal / payment data on any site that has not been secured.

Follow blog by email option REMOVED

TBNI.Blog does not gather any personal information.  The site is free to use and browse as you wish, you don’t have to register, make passwords or give over any personal details  the site is open to all to be enjoyed by all.

The ‘follow blog by email’ option has been removed due to the EU Data Protection legislation coming into force on 25th May 2018.

I’m sure it has been written with the best intentions, however it cripples small personal blogs like this and furthermore means that the 100s of subscribers that have followed this blog for many years will no longer be notified of new and exciting posts.

I will still be posting as frequently so please add the site to your ‘Bookmarks’ and keep checking back.

Thanks for your support over the years and ‘thanks’ to the EU for adding more regulations that will lead to the crippling of creativity online. Soon the internet will consist only of the sites that Brussels wants / allow us to see.
