The 2025 North West 200 delivered a thrilling day of racing on Saturday, May 10, with six fiercely contested races showcasing the pinnacle of road racing talent. From dramatic finishes to standout performances, the event captivated fans and reaffirmed its status as a premier fixture in the road racing calendar.


Race 1: Maxwell Freight Services Supertwin Race (4 Laps)

Richard Cooper initiated the day’s action with a commanding victory in the Supertwin opener. Riding the Jack Reid Cars Kawasaki, Cooper maintained a consistent pace to fend off Adam McLean’s Yamaha by a mere 0.280 seconds. Veteran Jeremy McWilliams secured third on his Aprilia, while Michael Sweeney completed the top four.

  1. Richard Cooper (Kawasaki) – 19:25.817
  2. Adam McLean (Yamaha) – +0.280s

Race 2: Briggs Equipment Superbike Race (6 Laps)

Michael Dunlop clinched a significant victory in the opening Superbike race aboard his Hawk Racing BMW. The race was not without controversy, as Peter Hickman, finishing third, declined to participate in the podium ceremony, expressing dissatisfaction with the race’s outcome. Despite the tensions, Dunlop’s performance was a testament to his skill and determination.

  3. Peter Hickman (BMW)
  4. Dean Harrison (Honda)

Race 3: Tides Restaurant Supersport Race (4 Laps – Restart)

In a race that was restarted due to an earlier incident, Richard Cooper showcased his prowess by securing his second win of the day. Piloting his Yamaha, Cooper narrowly edged out Dean Harrison’s Honda by just 0.140 seconds. Michael Dunlop, aboard his Ducati, completed the podium, finishing a mere 0.294 seconds behind Cooper.

Race 4: CP Hire Superstock Race (6 Laps)

Davey Todd delivered a masterclass in the Superstock category, claiming victory on his BMW. He managed to hold off a determined Dean Harrison, who finished just 0.586 seconds behind. Peter Hickman secured third place, with Alastair Seeley rounding out the top four.

Race 5: John M Paterson Supertwin Race (4 Laps)

Paul Jordan emerged victorious in a dramatic Supertwin race, showcasing exceptional skill on his Aprilia. He managed to create a significant gap, finishing nearly 10 seconds ahead of Michael Sweeney. Barry Furber and Allann Venter completed the top four, both delivering commendable performances.

  1. Paul Jordan (Aprilia) – 19:33.581
  2. Michael Sweeney (Aprilia) – +9.818s
  3. Barry Furber (Yamaha) – +15.547s
  4. Allann Venter (Kawasaki) – +15.673s

Race 6: Merrow Hotel and Spa Superbike Race (6 Laps)

The final race of the day saw Davey Todd secure his second win, this time in the feature Superbike race. Demonstrating impeccable form, Todd managed to stay ahead of Dean Harrison and Alastair Seeley, who finished second and third, respectively. The race was red-flagged on the final lap due to an incident at Quarry Hill, but the results were declared based on the standings at the end of lap five.
