Thanks to Amazon Prime and the Next Day Delivery – everything arrived right on time for me to spend the most of yesterday setting up the Raspberry Pi and playing games that were just a distant memeory. To be fair though the setting up was a minor aspect of the day. It took about 10 mins to open the package, build the Raspberry Pi and have it sitting ready for it’s memory card to tell it what to do! It is really that *easy.*
*easy* – truthfully there are a few stumbling blocks but I will post up a couple of videos at the end of this post that covers the tricky bits very well.

As a child of the 80’s I have been a gamer since – well forever. That makes Retro Gaming a part of my very core!
I started off on a Commodore +4, then moved to a Commodore 64, then an Amiga 1200, in 1992 I got my first Windows based PC, a Pentium III – DX2 66MHz (with about 500Mb of HDD space) if I remember rightly.
From there I started building PCs and then I moved to Mac and I am still here. As the same time I was also playing with consoles. Of course I had a Gameboy, but I was more of a Sega fanboy, Mega Drive, Saturn, then I moved to Playstation, 1 -> 2 -> 3 and now 4.
Playstation was my system of choice but I still have had xBox, xBox 360, and currently xBox One.
The amount of games I had for each system was criminal, however what is more criminal is the fact that the majority of them got traded in. If only I was wise then I’d still have every one of them displayed in my games room, insetead I imagine they are long since in a land fill somewhere. Devastating!
Along the way I have also picked up a NES, SNES, N64, 2DS, Neo-Geo Pocket, a Master System, a Game Gear and an Atari Lynx along with a really nice Atari 2600 and a few other random systems I have picked up along the way.
I love how gaming has progressed – I love gaming. I’m still at on the PS4, and I have the XB1 for Microsoft exclusives – and Fifa, but I love retro gaming. So I have finally decided to try out some old skool memories using a Raspberry Pi.
This scam has been about before and is actually quite clever as previously you could have paid 99p for a Lifetime of Whatsapp (or a year depending when you joined), but since 2016 Whatsapp has been free and still is!
So don’t click the link and don’t pay! This is an attempt by scammers to harvest payment details and no doubt rip you off further. Just press delete.
Don’t give it another thought – this is a scam full stop. Delete it, ignore and keep enjoying your Whatsapp.
Oh and on this instance the message was sent to my phone number as a regular Text Message not even as a Whatsapp Message – why would Whatspp do that. Think about it then forget it, happy that you still have your 99p and more importantly that you haven’t given this scum your bank details!

At the moment retro could not be more current. The Mini NES bringing back retro gaming into the mainstream, Nokia re-release the most classic and iconic handset of all time – the Nokia 3310 – RetroPi bringing pretty much every game ever released for all the classic systems right into your living room!
Retro is so cool and everyone agrees, well everyone agrees until you use it. Forget gaming, because retro gaming is awesome, but what about the rest of it? The truth is – retro tech suffers, because technology moves on, when we go back to old tech we instantly think – “Wow, how did we cope with this? It is so slow!”
Go back to the start of the mobile web, remember it? Chances are you could be reading this post on a mobile device and thanks to 4G, and responsive web themes you can get the full enjoyment and all the information from this site and pretty much every other site on the internet on any device from one in the palm of your hand to another on a full 5K 27 inch screen!

Out 2G original iPhone wouldn’t even be able to load this web site at any sort of useful speed, whereas with 4G it loads like lightning in glorious technicolor. But our original iPhone was so cool and retro is cool. So here you go, here is the idea :

For those unfamiliar with Night Shift, it’s designed to cut down on the amount of blue light you’re exposed to during the evening by shifting the display of a Mac to a more yellow tone. Blue light is said to have a harmful effect on your circadian rhythm, making it harder to fall asleep and stay asleep.
Studies suggest that eliminating blue light exposure at night might help you sleep just a bit better, but it does significantly change the look of your display. Many Mac users have been using blue light reduction software f.lux for years now, but with Night Shift, there’s no need to install an additional app because it’s an operating system feature.
The new watchOS 3.2 software with Theater Modes comes along side tvOS 10.2, both of which bring a number of tweaks and small features to the Apple TV and Apple Watch.

The biggest change in watchOS 3.2 is the new Theater Mode. When activated, the feature turns off Apple Watch’s display when you get a notification so the light doesn’t disturb those around you. Wearers still get haptic notifications though and can view alerts by tapping the screen or pressing the digital crown.

tvOS 10.2 :
tvOS 10.2 Released Today
Of the four the four new software updates released today, tvOS 10.2 is perhaps the least exciting of all. Apple have added some improved scrolling behaviors. Apple TV watchers use a long swipe on the Siri remote to scroll through data quicker. You can also swipe from the right side to bring up indexes.
And you can rent something to watch one one device and watch it on any of your others.
The new revision of macOS Sierra has just been released by Apple. macOS Sierra 10.12.4 is now available for Mac users, but before you install it, here’s the lowdown on the new features.
Please remember that when you decide to install the update make sure you have backed up your Mac’s data. Losing everything on a hard drive is something no one wants to consider so make sure to protect yourself, just in case!
