Nike Fuel Band… 9 months on!

So it has been 9 months since I got my Nike Fuel Band and I have been using it regularly ever since.

In fact for 8 months it pretty much never left my wrist, however for this last month it hasn’t even been close to my wrist!

And I will state from the start that is not the fault of the fuel band.

So forgetting the past few weeks that I haven’t been wearing the Fuel Band what are my opinions?

Simply put this is a great device, it makes you set a goal to achieve an amount of Nike Fuel, which isn’t any real measurable unit, people think it is calories, it is not, others think it is steps, again it isn’t. It is Nike Fuel. Nike would tell you this is a figure that takes into account your movement throughout the day and converts it into Nike’s own unit, the ‘Fuel.’

So you set your limit, I set mine at 3,000 Nike Fuel Units in a day. It took me a few days to come to this figure, but for me it means that a normal working day won’t hit this value, for me to hit it I have to go out and do a run or a long walk.

A value of 2000 I could hit just by getting up and going to work, so I set it high enough that some actual exercise had to occur for me to hit it.

G-Shock GW300B UnBoxing and Initial Thoughts…

So I have had this watch for a while now, picking it up whilst on holidays in Florida, for an amazing price, which I’m going to keep as a secret! But the same watch retails here for the equivalent £250GBP.

You may recognise this watch as it currently one of Casio G-Shock’s Poster Models, and with just a quick look it is easy to see why it is so desirable! Just look at it, it is a stunning watch!

Casio knew what they were doing whilst marketing this watch…Put a jet on it, people will want it! Damn straight!

The added information from Casio below will tell you of the features and functions of this watch, but here are my real world points in relation to every day wearing :

1. Comfortable – I have big wrists and it fits well.
2. Big but not massive. I thought this may be a bad point for me, however it isn’t. I usually wear large faced watches, the GA-100 and GX-56 are usually found wrapped around my wrist. This watch is noticeably smaller when being worn than both, however its depth somehow beefs it up and after a couple of minutes I had fully accepted it. Instead of saying smaller, I will say neater.

GoPro HD Hero 3 Wasabi Battery Pack – UnBoxing

With a little trip quickly approaching and the potential for some great footage to be captured I decided that an addition battery for my GoPro HD Hero 3 was a requirement.

It is no secret that the battery on the GoPro isn’t going to last anyone all day, in fact I reckon that the original battery will last for approximately an hour of filming. (Set at 1080p at 60fps at WIDE with PROTUNE turned OFF).

I also have a battery bacpac (from a Hero 2) that gives me another hour or so at the same settings.

Even still I wanted more, and after a little research and I noted that a battery by a company called ‘Wasabi’ was getting great reviews. So this is the option I have went for.

For £29.99 from Amazon.co.uk (which is the same price as an official GoPro Battery) you get the following :

2 x 3.7V, 1200mAh, 4.4Wh ‘Wasabi’ GoPro HD Hero 3 compatible batteries.

(The Official battery is rated at 3.7V, 1035mAh, 3.885Wh – so on paper the ‘Wasabi’ contains more juice, so should keep you going a little longer – in theory at least).

I have just purchased myself a Nike+ Fuel Band, with the thoughts that it will inspire me to get out and get fit.

I will therefore be posting my thoughts on it soon, I have only been rocking with it for a day and half so I will give it a bit of time, for me to use it and see the best ways to work with it, and will get back to you when I have had a good play with it.

After a tremendous opening ceremony last night I just thought I would say ‘Happy Olympic Games Everyone,’ good luck to all the competitors from every nation, good luck to all their families, friends, teams and coaches. Everyone deserves to come home with gold, however that can’t happen, so remember this you have made it! Well done and have fun.

Oh and Come On Team GB, especially everyone competing from Northern Ireland!

And finally if I get any good tips or value bets I’ll let you know, and before I forget, damn isn’t Jessica Ennis hot as hell!

I know I have been promising these for quite some time, and if you have been contacting me in relation to when they were going up please accept my apologies for the delay.

It just took a little longer than I was expecting to get the time to trim them down and make sure the best photos made it. I had well over 700 to sort through, and I hope I have brought you the best of them!

The only gripe I have, which to be honest about I am reasonably devastated over is that there was a horribly placed fence just in front of me that played havoc with getting the wheels of the bikes in the shots. Unfortunately I couldn’t get any higher to try and cut over it, and I didn’t want to move, as my position at this chicane was far too good to let go.

The other thing I thought was that the decals and livery of the bikes were just too nice for me to not put up the photos due to the fact that the fence interfered with the wheels a little. So I am aware that the fence is not ideal in the photos, but I also felt you should get a good look at the bikes regardless.

Also this was my first attempt at motion photography, and I have to say I really enjoyed trying a few different techniques. I still am learning and motorsport photography is definitely something I will be working at in the future, so expect some more.
