Motorcycling Ireland Monthly Update : November 2024

Motorcycling Ireland Monthly Update : November 2024

Motorcycling Ireland issued their November update on 28th November 2024 and followed that with further information on 29th November 2024.

Monthly Update from the Board of Motorcycling Ireland

As part of our ongoing commitment to better communication, we’re introducing a monthly update to share key highlights from our board meetings. These summaries will provide a snapshot of important topics and ongoing projects.

Here’s what was discussed at this month’s board meeting:

Welcomed New Board Members – We’re excited to introduce new faces to the team!

Positive Progress with Insurance – We have received some positive feedback on current insurance progress. We thank you for your patience while we continue to work hard on this topic. We will release a separate statement on insurance soon.

Upcoming Inter-Centre Conference – Details of the inter-centre conference were discussed, as well as selecting the board members who will represent us at the event. We look forward to this event as a way to bring all of the centres together for discussions on our disciplines and the future of our sport.

Licence Extension – All current competition licences have been extended until February 28th, in line with our current insurance period.

Holeshot Draw – The Holeshot draw raised €175,000 in total, which went a long way in covering our insurance premium. We would once again like to thank everyone who supported the draw. A special thank you to two of the winners who donated their prizes back to the insurance fund.

Website Updates – We’re continuing our work on our new website, with a focus now going to ensure that each discipline will soon have their own section for specific information. This is a work in progress.

If you have any further questions or would like more information, please reach out to your local club. They can either provide additional details or bring your questions directly to your convenors who have more detailed information.

2025 Honda Racing UK Lineup

2025 Honda Racing UK Lineup :

Honda Racing UK have announced their 2025 Rider lineup for both their roads and circuit campaign, and for this year’s TT the team will consist of Dean Harrison and John McGuiness.

2025 Honda Racing UK Lineup

PRESS RELEASE :

In a lineup of familiar faces, Honda Racing UK is delighted to reveal the riders campaigning for the manufacturer throughout the 2025 season in British Championship racing and at the North West 200 and Isle of Man TT races.

In the Bennetts British Superbike series, Tommy Bridewell continues for a second year determined to go one better next season and become a two-time BSB champion. His remarkable 2024 campaign was punctuated with three wins and a further sixteen podiums en route to second in the championship standings, just a single point away from consecutive titles on alternate manufacturers.

Joining him aboard a Honda Racing UK Fireblade once more is Northern Irishman Andrew Irwin, who is set to embark on his fifth season with the team (2019-2020, 2023-2025). A previous winner aboard Honda machinery, he made a welcome return to the podium on multiple occasions last year and targets more in 2025.

Returning to race once more in the North West 200 and Isle of Man TT Races, Dean Harrison is eager to build on an excellent debut year racing the Fireblade and CBR600RR on the roads. Podiums aboard Superbike, Superstock & Supersport machinery in his first year of racing for Honda laid the solid foundations on which to build in 2025. Dean will also supplement his road racing activities with a season of racing in the British Supersport category.

Lining up alongside him in the iconic colours of Honda once more to compete solely in the ‘big bike’ classes is road racing royalty, John McGuinness MBE. His popular return to the podium at this year’s NW200 was a clear standout from his thirty-fourth season of motorcycle racing, and with season thirty-five now confirmed, he and Honda look set to continue making history together for another year.

FHO have announced today via a Press Release and Facebook Post that Davey Todd will join the Team full time for their BSB and roads campaign.

2025 FHO Rider Lineup

Davey Todd steps up to the British Superbike Championship with FHO Racing BMW Motorrad

The FHO Racing BMW Motorrad team is delighted to announce that the 2024 National Superstock Champion Davey Todd will join the team for the 2025 season, as Davey steps up to the Bennetts British Superbike Championship full-time aboard the BMW M 1000 RR.

With a formidable line-up for the 2025 BSB season, Davey joins Faye Ho’s squad alongside Peter Hickman as the FHO Racing team look to lift the Bennetts British Superbike Championship trophy for the first time.

Two-time National Superstock Champion (2022, 2024), Davey is no stranger to the BMW M 1000 RR, having won this year’s title aboard the Superstock version. Taking the BMW to the top step on three occasions, his consistency won him the overall title as he stood on the podium a further nine times.

Meanwhile Hicky maintains his long-standing relationship with Team Principal Faye Ho, as the 2025 season marks his fourth year with the FHO Racing BMW Motorrad squad. Having been a part of the team since it made its debut in the British Championship in 2012, Peter has enjoyed BSB wins and podiums aboard the BMW M 1000 RR, despite a challenging time this year in the series.

PRESS RELEASE 2025 TANDRAGEE 100 – TITLE SPONSOR & DATES

28th October 2024

On behalf of the North Armagh Motorcycle & Car Club (Tarmac Section) Ltd, it is with great pleasure I confirm Around-A-Pound has been confirmed as the title sponsor for the 2025 Around-A-Pound Tandragee 100 National Motorcycle Road Races.

The announcement comes as preparations begin to pick up the pace for the event, which is scheduled to take place on Friday 27th and Saturday 28th June 2025.

The local company, established by Gerard and Siobhan Rice in 1999, are once again showing their support for the Around-A-Pound Tandragee 100 National Road Race, having been key sponsors for the event since 2005!

“We are delighted that Around-A-Pound is confirmed as this year’s title sponsor. Gerard and Siobhan have been very supportive towards both the Club and the event for nearly 20 years, and we are thrilled to be continuing that relationship in 2025. The event just would not be the same without them, they have not only contributed significantly in a financial way since 2005, but been ‘hands on’ with course set up and on occasion offered advice and support when needed.
