This weekend saw the road racing schedule return to the Republic of Ireland for the Faugheen 50 Road Races.
As you will see from the results below Derek McGee remains the man to beat with 14 wins, from his last 14 entries. Impressive! This weekend’s stats are simply 5 entries – 5 wins!

The 2018 Walderstown Road Races were held on 14th – 15th July.
The races, thankfully, passed off without major incident and Derek McGee surged to 4 victories including the feature superbike race.
Read on for the full results of what I believe to have been the first proper wet session of the Irish calendar – I remember Cookstown getting the odd shower but after Ireland being being baked in a recent heatwave it had to break and Walderstown was the first session where wet tyres were the only option – all day!

Loughshinny Motorcycle Supporters Club Ltd as planned, continued their Skerries 100 event today 8th July 2018.
“With the blessing of our racing family and support from all our officials and marshals, the riders took to the grid to complete the demanding 10 race programme, in fine good sunny weather. The spectators were treated to some superb racing from our incredibly talented riders with only one rider in mind, William Dunlop, a fitting tribute to their fellow fallen rider. This non-championship races were held on the 2.92 mile circuit, and catered for all classes from 125cc up to Superbikes 1000cc.
The Loughshinny Motorcycle Supporters Club extends their heartfelt sympathy to William Dunlop’s family and friends and we are continuing to support them over this very difficult time and the club would ask that the privacy of the family be respected at this time. “

Another glorious day on the Isle of Man. So it was off to the course to have a few runs round the Mountain Road before heading to a new vantage point to watch the evening’s qualifying / practice sessions.
The first thing I noticed was the iconic house that I knew as the ‘PokerStars House’ was now the ‘Honda House.’
Missing getting over the mountain in 2016 I watched the session from this park – it is a good viewing area if you ever visit.
If you look towards the house you will see lots of bikes parked up. That’s because the Mountain section was closed due to a collision, unfortunately this year this was an all too common occurrence.
The 2018 Isle of Man TT can only be described as sunkissed throughout. Two glorious weeks of wall to wall, practically uninterupted sunshine!
Now there is a secret to being on the Isle of f Man in such weather, you simply start off by going to Conor Cummings Coffee Shop called Conrods, located in Ramsey.
And when there get yourself a milkshake!

The TT Festival finishes off just like it starts – with a series of races from the Billown Circuit in Castletown and just like the Pre-TT this event is unmissable.
It is a smaller event, in comparison, but a great way to get your final racing fix before ending your TT journey and sailing home, so if you can fit it in your itinerary – do so!
This year saw three hotly contested races, namely the 600cc machines in Race 1, the 250cc / 650cc Twins in Race 2 and 1100cc Machines in the final race. In the same vain as the past fortnight lap and race records fell with new lap records in every race and new over all race records in the 250cc / 650cc Race along with the superbike race!

After 2 weeks of glorious sunshine on the Isle of Man – coupled with lap records falling across all classes, almost daily, the stage was set for an epic PokerStars Senior TT.
Michael Dunlop was almost late for the start, in typical Michael Dunlop style – so nothing to worry about there. Dean Harrison started off with the same pace he has shown all week – warp speed! Peter Hickman decided warp speed was the gear for him too and the stage was set for an awesome battle between these two.
Conor Cummings was the first man on the road and he pushed hard throughout coming out the other side with a 3rd place finish and an amazing result for the #padgettsarmy
James Hillier suffered a catastrophic incident on the first lap which resulted in his bike dumping it’s oil all over the course. Michael Rutter was the first rider through the incident, followed by Michael Dunlop. Neither rider really seemed to recover from it nor the four laps of waved yellow flag that resulted.
Ben and Tom Birchall on their Honda machine again show the world how to pilot a sidecar taking the honours and another Isle of Man double! Well done those men!
