Asian Goal Line – A Simple Guide.

The Asian goal line is rapidly becoming a more popular way to bet on the number of goals in a football / soccer match.

Basically it is like an each way bet in the horses. Half your stake goes on one half of the bet the other half goes on the remaining selection of the bet. If one have looses at least you are still in the game although with only half of your stake.

Here is the basic and easy to follow break down of your options and the results that enable you to win, lose or push…

Goal Line Asian Handicap explanations:

O 0,0 – 0,5 : 0 goal = half of the stake is refunded
1 goal and more = you win

O 0,5 – 1,0 : 0 goal = you lose
1 goal = you win half of the winnings
2 goals and more = you win

O 1,0 – 1,5 : 0 goal = you lose
1 goal = you get half of your stake back
2 goals and more = you win

O 1,5 – 2,0 : 0 and 1 goal = you lose
2 goals = you win half of the winnings
3 goals and more = you win

O 2,0 – 2,5 : 0 and 1 goal = you lose
2 goals = you get half on your stake back
3 goals and more = you win

O 2,5 – 3,0 : 0 – 1 and 2 goals = you lose
3 goals = you win the half of the winnings
4 goals and more = you win

O 3,0 – 3,5 : 0 – 1 – 2 goals = you lose
3 goals = you get half of your stake back
4 goals and more = you win

O 3,5 – 4,0 : 0 – 1 – 2 and 3 goals = you lose

iOS Mailbox App Join the Queue!

So having read about the launch of a new iOS e-mail app by the name of ‘Mailbox’ I have decided to join the queue.

That’s right this app has a queue for you to join to use it.

Apparently this is to stagger use to enable their servers and such to cope.

All I know is is that it is a GoogleMail client that has swipe gestures and is meant to be supremely easy to use.

I’ll get to try it out when the 385,000 users ahead of me get their Mailboxes.

I’ll update soon. If it warrants an update that is!

Best Free Mac Anti-Virus Solutions.

It is with great pride that you you will hear Mac users, owners and genius(pl) tell you that due to the rigidity of OSX and the super tightness of its code that the Mac doesn’t need an anti-virus.

“How is it so secure? There are a number of answers to this question, but it’s primarily due to a technique known as sandboxing. Essentially, sandboxing is a form of software virtualization that runs programs and processes in an isolated virtual environment, thus giving them limited access to your system and everything on it. Secondarily is a system called library randomization, which makes it harder for malicious programs to find their targets, coupled with this there are dozens of other security features that make the OSX operating system so tight.”

However there is another truth behind this story and it is this. The Mac has less risk of virus(pl) attacks as hackers spend less time targeting Macs. This was primarily because a lot fewer people had them, so the virus would have been targeting a minority, so why bother, you could easily get enough victims by targeting Windows machines.

This are changing though! Macs are getting hugely more popular, and people are buying them, as numbers increase, so too will hackers interest in the machines.

The simply fact is people put the same info into a Mac as they do a PC, bank details, personal details, passwords and so on…

This makes the Mac more attractive to the hacker now. More Macs, more reason to hack, more chance of a virus or malicious code and more chance of personal loss.

It is for this reason that I am now moving away from the mindset of “I have a Mac there I am safe.”

I am now of the mindset “I have a Mac so I am safer, and I can be safer still with an Anti Virus program.”

22/03/2013 Gears of War Judgement Release Day

Today is release day for the latest instalment in the Gears of War story. This one instead though of focusing on the hero we have grown up with namely Marcus Fenix, it focuses instead on the rather ‘lippy’ Damon Baird.

The story basically picks up immediately after Emergence Day and follows the happenings to Baird’s ‘Kilo’ Squad.

The ‘Traditional’ Mournes – Newcastle and Up…

Route : Traditional Mournes.

Distance : 60 km

Time : 1.25 hours with few stops (longer to factor in meals and stops for photos / walks etc.)

Bike Restrictions : Any bike should cope, good well maintained roads throughout.

A short time ago I posted a little write up about the ‘Alternate’ Mournes.  The idea being to show people the other side of the Mournes that are often missed out by visitors, whether on a bike or four wheels.  The ‘Alternate’ Mournes takes visitors from Newry, Co. Down and goes up, it takes in places like Slieve Gullion, Meigh, and Forkhill, places that are often avoided to their shady pasts.  The ‘Traditional’ Mournes takes people from Newcastle, Co. Down and then up, and as you can see from the map below it takes in places such as Tollymore Forest Park, Spelga Dam and Silvent Valley.

Unboxing : Casio G-Shock GX56-4ER – The King G (Orange)

In the G-Shock Watch World this huge G-Shock is affectionately known as the ‘King-G.’ And that it a title it rightly deserves.

At the time of writing this is currently the largest offering in the G-Shock range with dimensions of approximately 55.5mm x 53.6mm x 17.5mm (H x W x D).

This watch is truly a monster, and also my second GX-56 in my collection.

The first one I acquired being a GX56-1AER, which is identical expect in the colour scheme, namely black.

This version, the GX56-4ER is much more ‘in your face’ sporting a vibrant orange colour scheme that simply can not be hidden.
If you don’t like people checking out your watch from distances up to 200m maybe you’d be better opting for the black version!

The watch itself has all the features you’d expect now from G-Shock, 200m water resitance, shock resistance, date, time, alarm, stop watch, world times… and the list goes on. The is also an atomic edition of the watch so time zones and BST settings will never be an issue again.

Prices vary wildly for this watch so if you want one keep an eye out, I picked mine up brand new for £81.00 and have seen them listed for up to £200 for the non atomic variant!

The ‘Alternate Mournes’ – A Tour To Consider

The Mourne Mountains in Northern Ireland are by no means strange to bikers from across the world.  Just look at Newcastle, Co. Down’s Main Street on any given Sunday (or any given sunny day) and you will see rows of bikes lined up outside the Town Hall, awaiting or having just returned from a zip through the Mournes.  Look across the street at anyone of the Coffee Shops or ice-cream shops and you’ll find the riders of said bikes enjoying a much needed treat, or getting the energy levels up before starting off on their journey.

Bikes from across the country and beyond congregate here, the riders all united by their two wheeled machines.  And it is from here that the journey begins.

Many bikes have left the coast at Newcastle and ascended into the mountains, where well maintained roads twist upwards and onwards.  The sights are enough to guarantee a return by any visitor, especially on a bright sunny day, the landscape here is truly breath taking.

But there is another side to the Mournes, after all this is the Kingdom of Mourne, not simply a one way route.  However this other side of the mountain range is effectively untouched, but it is no less beautiful.  There are sights on the other sode of the Mournes that will leave you breathless as quickly, maybe even more so, than anywhere else on the range.

Most riders go Newcastle and up, may I suggest that you try Newry and up.
