Gearing Up for the 2025 Isle of Man TT Races!

The air is already buzzing, a distant thrum of anticipation growing louder with each passing day. It’s almost time for the most famous road races on Earth, the ultimate test of courage and speed: the Isle of Man TT Races! From May 26th to June 7th, 2025, the legendary Mountain Course will once again become hallowed ground, welcoming riders and enthusiasts from across the globe for an unforgettable fortnight of pure, unadulterated road racing.

The Schedule: From Qualifying to Senior Glory :

As always, the action kicks off with an intense week of qualifying, beginning on Monday, May 26th. Riders will be pushing their machines and themselves to the absolute limit, finding that elusive rhythm on the 37.73-mile circuit. Evening qualifying sessions from Tuesday, May 27th to Thursday, May 29th promise incredible spectacles under the fading Manx light, while Friday, May 30th offers a final chance to lay down a blistering lap.

Then, the moment we’ve all been waiting for: Race Week!

Saturday, May 31st sees the Monster Energy Supersport TT Race 1 and the 3wheeling.media Sidecar TT Race 1 ignite the track.
Sunday, June 1st brings the thunder with the highly anticipated RST Superbike TT Race.
After a well-deserved rest day on Monday, June 2nd, Tuesday, June 3rd delivers a double-header with the RL360 Superstock TT Race 1 and the Supertwin TT Race 1.
Wednesday, June 4th serves up more two-wheeled brilliance with the Monster Energy Supersport TT Race 2 and the 3wheeling.media Sidecar TT Race 2.
Another rest day on Thursday, June 5th before the Isle of Man Bank Holiday, Friday, June 6th, features the PE Superstock TT Race 2 and the Entire Cover Insurance Supertwin TT Race 2.
And finally, the grand finale on Saturday, June 7th: the iconic Milwaukee Senior TT Race, where legends are made and history is written.

Ballymoney Gears Up for “Joey 25” — A Legendary Tribute to the King of the Roads

On 24th May, the heart of Northern Ireland will once again thrum with the sound of racing engines and raw emotion, as Ballymoney plays host to Joey 25 — a powerful tribute marking 25 years since the tragic passing of road racing icon Joey Dunlop.

Set for May 24, 2025, this once-in-a-generation celebration will bring together over 25 motorcycling legends, including the likes of World Superbike Champions Jonathan Rea and Carl Fogarty, in a rolling homage to the man many still regard as the greatest road racer of all time. And they won’t just be there to wave to the crowd — they’ll be throwing a leg over Dunlop’s own machines, riding them through Ballymoney’s town centre in a closed-road parade that promises goosebumps and nostalgia in equal measure.

The day isn’t just about roaring engines and racing royalty. The Ballymoney Museum will open its doors to a special memorabilia exhibition, offering fans an intimate look at Joey’s life, his racing triumphs, and the quiet humility that made him a hero well beyond the paddock. From iconic leathers to silverware earned on the Isle of Man and beyond, it’s a chance to step into the world of a man whose 26 TT wins still stand as a towering achievement in motorsport history.

Beyond the museum walls and the parade route, the town will come alive with “meet the riders” sessions, autograph signings, live music, and a packed schedule of entertainment — all designed to honour a legacy that transcends the sport.

Joey Dunlop wasn’t just a racer. He was a symbol of courage, modesty, and relentless passion. His death in Estonia in 2000 sent shockwaves through the racing community, but also cemented his status as a legend — not just in Northern Ireland, but across the world.

Joey 25 is shaping up to be more than just an event. It’s a gathering of old friends, fierce competitors, and generations of fans — all united by the legacy of one man who raced not for glory, but for love of the sport. And on May 24, the roads of Ballymoney will echo with that love once again.

One of the most read posts annually since 2017 on this site is the Winners’ Payout Details (with over 98,000 unique hits at the time of writing) and since 2017 I have updated annually it with the latest information from the current Regulations Booklet. IMPORTANT : The are some major changes since 2022, for example the Senior TT now awards the race winner – at the end – as opposed to at the end and throughout each lap as per 2022 and previously. The prize for winning the Senior TT has also increased since 2022 from £18,000 to £25,000. The other races have also seen increases in their placed prizes and overall prize pots.

The 2025 North West 200 delivered a thrilling day of racing on Saturday, May 10, with six fiercely contested races showcasing the pinnacle of road racing talent. From dramatic finishes to standout performances, the event captivated fans and reaffirmed its status as a premier fixture in the road racing calendar.

Race 1: Maxwell Freight Services Supertwin Race (4 Laps)

Richard Cooper initiated the day’s action with a commanding victory in the Supertwin opener. Riding the Jack Reid Cars Kawasaki, Cooper maintained a consistent pace to fend off Adam McLean’s Yamaha by a mere 0.280 seconds. Veteran Jeremy McWilliams secured third on his Aprilia, while Michael Sweeney completed the top four.

REMEMBERING SHANE RICHARDSON :

Shane Richardson was dedicated and hard working in his pursuit of racing motorcycles at a high level, having moved overseas after starting his career in his native New Zealand. He will be remembered for his commitment both on and off the track to achieve his dream.

Shane debuted in the British Championship paddock in 2019, competing in the National Superstock 600 Championship. He finished as runner-up by just six points at his first attempt, denied a chance at the title only by a technical issue in the final race of the season. He won two races and a further three podiums during that impressive debut campaign.

Shane moved into the National Superstock 1000 Championship a year later, but faced a challenging season, as he ended up 16th in the final standings. He returned in 2021 and finished 17th overall, claiming a best race result of fourth.

For 2022, he raced in the British Supersport Championship, joining in the latter part of the season. Despite missing the opening eight rounds, it was a competitive campaign featuring three top 10 finishes. He also made appearances that year in the New Zealand Superbike Championship’s Formula Two/Supersport 600 class.

Shane entered two rounds of the National Superstock Championship in 2023, before returning to British Supersport Championship once more in 2024 where he finished ninth overall with 12 top 10 finishes including a best result of fifth at Knockhill.

Prior to racing in the British Championship paddock, Shane was awarded the accolade of Male Rider of the Year in the New Zealand Motorcycle Awards back in his native homeland. He also competed in MotoAmerica, where he was a race winner in 2018 in the MotoAmerica Stock 1000 Championship.

MSVR STATEMENT: QUATTRO GROUP BRITISH SUPERSPORT CHAMPIONSHIP RACE

5th May 2025 :

At the start of this afternoon’s Quattro Group British Supersport Championship race at Oulton Park, exiting turn one, Old Hall corner on the first lap, there was a chain reaction incident involving 11 riders falling. The race was immediately stopped and trackside medical services deployed.

Due to the extreme severity of the incident and ongoing medical intervention, the remainder of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship event was cancelled.

This catastrophic accident has tragically resulted in two riders being fatally injured, and another sustaining significant injuries.
