FAKE LifeProof by Fre Case – A Guide to Spotting Nasty Fakes!

So after a thorough hunt on eBay I found a high feedback rated user, located in the UK (so local to me) who was selling ‘Genuine’ LifeProof Cases for the iPhone 5.

The case was at a price lower than RRP, but not by a huge amount. It certainly wasn’t one of these ยฃ9.99 ‘LifeProof’ cases that you see all over sites such as eBay, Gumtree, and now unfortunately, more frequently also Amazon.

The order was placed and delivery was next day, all in all so far great service from this ‘highly rated’ eBay seller. That is were the good news stops! Upon opening the box it was evident that I was NOT the proud owner of a genuine LifeProof Fre iPhone 5 Case. I was now the owner of a cheap and nasty fake. The only other option was that the genuine Fre LifeProof cases were in fact a very inferior product.

That is not the case! It is the fakes that are inferior!

Everything about them from the box, quality and decals, right through to the overall feel and fit of the case just screams nasty.

Here is a quick guide of what to look for, so that pretty much instantly you should be aware of a real v fake Fre LifeProof Case:

iPhone 5 Cygnett Bulldozer Case Unboxing

I picked this case up a while ago, actually I attempted to pick it up in time for the iPhone 5 release, however due to some absolutely shocking customer services from the company I ordered it from it arrived almost 2 months after release. ย It was obviously sent straight back, not before I took the opportunity to take a look at the case and make some initial first impressions.

I have to stress straight away though that the case was returned not because of the quality of the case, but purely due to the atrocious ย Customer Services, and lies that I received. ย (Item marked as dispatched – item never arrived, assured item posted, item never arrived, item marked as out of stock, no replacement available, item comes into stock, item marked again as dispatched, repeat contact through to no stock available through to available again, so third item arrives, and from follow up there was never an item 1 or 2, as the company had never actually had stock until the arrival of the third!) – Anyway rant over!

The case itself…

iOS Mailbox App Join the Queue!

So having read about the launch of a new iOS e-mail app by the name of ‘Mailbox’ I have decided to join the queue.

That’s right this app has a queue for you to join to use it.

Apparently this is to stagger use to enable their servers and such to cope.

All I know is is that it is a GoogleMail client that has swipe gestures and is meant to be supremely easy to use.

I’ll get to try it out when the 385,000 users ahead of me get their Mailboxes.

I’ll update soon. If it warrants an update that is!

Unboxing : Casio G-Shock GX56-4ER – The King G (Orange)

In the G-Shock Watch World this huge G-Shock is affectionately known as the ‘King-G.’ And that it a title it rightly deserves.

At the time of writing this is currently the largest offering in the G-Shock range with dimensions of approximately 55.5mm x 53.6mm x 17.5mm (H x W x D).

This watch is truly a monster, and also my second GX-56 in my collection.

The first one I acquired being a GX56-1AER, which is identical expect in the colour scheme, namely black.

This version, the GX56-4ER is much more ‘in your face’ sporting a vibrant orange colour scheme that simply can not be hidden.
If you don’t like people checking out your watch from distances up to 200m maybe you’d be better opting for the black version!

The watch itself has all the features you’d expect now from G-Shock, 200m water resitance, shock resistance, date, time, alarm, stop watch, world times… and the list goes on. The is also an atomic edition of the watch so time zones and BST settings will never be an issue again.

Prices vary wildly for this watch so if you want one keep an eye out, I picked mine up brand new for ยฃ81.00 and have seen them listed for up to ยฃ200 for the non atomic variant!

HOW TO : ACF-50 Application [Video Guide]

ACF-50
ACF-50

I thought this would be a good potential way to attack, but not necessarily kill two birds with one stone. ย I recently purchased some ACF-50 (Anti Corrosion Formula 50) to treat and protect my new bike for the rest of the winter, from the rest of the winter, and after much reading ACF-50 seems to be the product to do that!

Here is how I have described it on my YouTube Video…

Casio Edifice EF-552PB-1A2VEF โ€“ Unboxing

So personal choice of watch is the Casio G-Shock, however I am partial to the Edifice range also. The Edifice range feels more formal and therefore may be more suitable for certain circumstances.

An Edifice for example may give a better first impression at a job interview than say a bright yellow G-Shock, then again the G-Shock could actually say a lot more about you than a metal banded watch. Who knows? Who cares? Let’s just settle for they are a different style of watch that may suit you sometime when you fancy a different style of watch!

iTunes 11 – It is Here!

Screen Shot 2012-11-29 at 21.57.25

Apparently the new iTunes is ground breaking, designed from the base up, intuitive, streamlined and ready to rock your musical library!

It is now here, and ready for download, and has been for a couple of days. I have been using at it now since its release and I quite like it. However I really liked iTunes 10, I know people said it was bloat, useless junk, however it did what I needed it to do, and for that reason I liked it.

So how then does iTunes 11 cope or compare. Well in my opinion at this early stage it copes, but only just. There is no doubt it is nice to look at but in my short time playing around with it I have the following questions!
